Man, it's almost like there is some major systemic problems in our communities making crime, violence and drugs a viable alternative to whatever else. I've lived in Charlotte since 1985. I've been going downtown pretty readily for the past 20 years. I will agree, there is a lot more to worry about. It has gotten worse as the services and social safety has been cut and undermined. There is also a major problem in our homes and families. Kids don't just decide to jump into gangs and drugs. They do that when there are no opportunities or hope. That's not a political statement, but it's straight from the Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby Payne.

Roll it over and continue to build smart. If we're lucky, we're competing for a playoff spot this year. Don't spend on leftovers just to "hope" you get lucky. Keep being smart, acquire assets, let the young guys play, and hope we're on the "in the hunt" graphic late into this season...that's the real goal. If all goes well, (and Bryce shows he's legit), you can be more all-in next year. Seems like that's been the plan, which he finally have, and we're sticking to it.

For all the shade thrown at the Panthers for cutting Renfrow, if he has to 'talk over' if he wants to play in the NFL or not, then it should tell you that either the man's heart or health is not up to the task. Either way, it looks like cutting him initially was the right move. it gives him time to figure out if he feels like playing in the most exclusive sports League in the world.

Agreed and this is the type of QB you pick up and try to develop. A QB that was actually good in college - Today
-
That’s the definition of a one player away fan. We aren’t in the playoffs this year unless Tampa shits the bed and a losing record takes the South so spending our entire cap is bad. Roll it over so when we are competitive we can sign a couple studs and go for it. A 5-12 team with a lot more than one hole is not that.
-
Who cares about year 4 and 5th year option? The only elite QB who hadn’t proved himself by year 3 was Aaron Rodgers. First, Young isn’t him/doesn’t have an HOFer in front of him and second, Young doesn’t need a one year player as a security blanket. If he’s the guy, he needs to elevate his WRs in year 3.
-
If Young can’t play without Thielen then Young’s career was going to be over after this season anyway.

We can all dream

Well they are a developmentally minded staff that has focused on building this roster from the inside out. So I wouldn't expect a splash move to fill any holes coming anytime soon, especially outside of the trenches. Maybe in 2026, but that depends on where Bryce is. If Bryce fails, we are gonna stay in rebuild mode.
-
No, I just really don’t want to leave games on the table this year because we believe in Shemar Bartholomew or think Claudin Cherelus is well enough.

They are claiming the ball is in Hunter’s court. He is talking it over with his family. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1960802797781442845

You must be one of these "one move away guys."

ESPN has a whole is just hot takes and the dumbest takes possible. That is why it sucks so badly. They intentionally drag everything down to a lightspeed retarded level so that it is unwatchable. No jounalism, no nuance, no in depth analysis....just idiot after idiot blabbering/shouting about some hot button issue that they really have no real strong opinions about until the camera is rolling.
-
Young is the overwhelming priority. We have ample time on them and it's far easier to pivot at WR than QB. Remember that 2026 is year 4 for Bryce. That is 5th year option decision time and also the prime time to attempt to regain resources if a pivot is made. The odds of gaining any assets in a trade afterwards plumment very rapidly(all this depending on performance, obviously). At the end of that cycle, now we are likely in a $45+ million territory for him to remain. So that decision trumps all others by a mile when it comes to personnel.

Yep, all NFL players learn everything they will need to know for their careers by the start of their 2nd season, they never learn and improve after that. Oh, and if you’re a 1st round pick, you learn all that in the first couple months of the draft, so T-Mac is good for the rest of his career too. Sorry Horn Jr, you’re just SOL I guess

People overestimate what coaches do. It’s like you’ve never watched the sidelines during a game and see the players talking about what they’re seeing out there and giving each other pointers to play better. Yes, coaches do some of that, but people are straight up sticking their heads in the sand if they think seasoned vets don’t impart wisdom onto younger players every day of the season.
-
This is why re-signing Brady Christensen was so important.
-
This is pretty brutal for Bryce Young. Thielen was the one receiver he had actual chemistry with and trust in. Getting into empty looks and giving Thielen two-way goes was how the Panthers sparked Bryce's turnaround https://x.com/ollieconnolly/status/1960706467457057064?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

Nothing towards you, but I’ve seen this 50 times today and I think people forget what the wide receivers COACH is for. Ours played in the NFL 11 seasons and has been coaching for 20+. Canales was the WR coach in Seattle forever. I think we will be okay.
