I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons. Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone. Happens to all teams that have that much success. -

I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent..... -
Add five minutes Philly scores in the 98th on some bullshit

Oilers make it a game again and Florida scores almost immediately. It’s crazy how they do that all the time. Such a gut punch. -

Good point. Should have bumped us to 27 for that alone. -

I think he said 26 or higher is possible if we sign say Alexander or Ramsey and shore up the secondary. -

I kinda skimmed the video, I do kinda believe 28 is preeeettty low for the panthers, I mean, Basically saying we're the 5th worst team in the league when we were the 8th last year and meanwhile having an upgraded roster (and an easier schedule) almost top to bottom is kinda a meh take. Now us between 22-26, I can see it, but this is a roster with more defensive talent, more offensive depth, and more seasoned coaching, base-line I'd say is for us to essentially stay where we were last year. -
He may be lining up to go to the rams but who knows. I will say tho, adding him would make us a favorite to win the division in my eyes. Each team has decent wr talent but having him, Horn and Mike Jackson as your top 3 corners... would make it extra tough on the other qbs.
-
they have to be grooming him to compete for it. I think a few of us were saying the depth at G and need at OT would pull him out there--he is probably at his best at T, but we hope his best is good enough. that is why I would hesitate to draft older players--they can't take 3 years to develop.

Cam going to smash lol.
-
Yeah, I'm not trying to rain on any parades but I'm not gonna let my hopes get too high either.
-
That's always going to be the case on a team coming from the bottom, though. We are acting like we have arrived because we have something to look forward to again. It was hard to be optimistic during the Rhule era. I don't disagree with you, but they way I see it is, we have nothing to lose by being happy/optimistic right now. It may be the only enjoyment we get if things DON'T work out. Let the dreamers dream imo.
-
We need a lot of of new pieces and rookies to work out. Yeah, there's potential there by it seems like some Panthers fans are acting like we've arrived and we definitely have to prove that on the field. Most of the teams on our schedule are probably looking at the game against us as a game they should win. That's just gonna be the reality until we prove otherwise.
-
I'd say they did a good job fixing the o-line. Our running back room on paper looks good to me. WR group is the most exciting we have had in a long while. Thielen said it was the first time since he has been here that he doesn't know who will make the roster and that the floor is raised. Our defense looks very different than last year with a clear focus on stopping the run which was a huge weakness. They can only do so much at once. I think we have plenty to be excited and hopeful about.
-
We have a lot of issues. We're just hoping that we may have some of them fixed. We still got a see it play out on the field first.

Thanks for sharing. I haven’t gotten all the way through but it seems very in depth. I don’t know much about this guy but like the fact that he is high on the panthers and optimistic but did not let that really play into his rankings. I think 28 is a good stake in the ground. I would question the credibility of anyone ranking this team higher than 24/25. -
I feel like we had more issues back then, though. Whether you like the regime or the plan, they do seem to have a plan. Revamping the team group by group and building something. I am admittedly overly optimistic when it comes to the Panthers.

Coker is a 6-3 215 possession WR at this point. He had a near 70% catch rate and was really good in contested catches situations. He is pretty sound fundamentally, and he seems to be very intelligent and self disciplined. As the fourth WR, he will get his opportunities and I see him more of an AT II if XL and TMac develop as expected. BEHIND him (at the moment) we have Renfrow, Horn, and Moore. The bottom line is this: WR depth is usually based on the confidence the QB has in you. When the game is on the line, the QB will find the guys he trusts. For example, Mingo and Marshall did not get many balls--you could say they were not getting open, but it could also be they had not earned the love.
-
We definitely don't. I'm just saying that we didn't when we were concentrating tons of resources into RBs either.

It's a very floor level ranking, yes. I think the big takeaway is that he believes we need a lot of young players to step up in order to really make any ground up. He's not wrong. -
lol thank you. Everyone’s a genius after the fact
-
Times have been dark buddy. We haven't had a winning season in 8 years. 2 out of 8 sounds like an improvement. Nostalgia may be clouding my perception a bit, but let's not act like we have our poo together lol
-
We were? We had two winning seasons out of DeAngelo's eight with the team.
-
That is a different discussion, though. I don't disagree, but I think they are trying to get back to our former identity and become a tough, hard nosed, run first team. If that is the case, the pick makes a lot more sense. We were deadly with a one-two punch as much as I dislike D-Will.
