We need to go hard for someone, any means necessary.

The athletic has the right Idea IMO Jarvis will be our 1B center..... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6472946/2025/07/04/hurricanes-lineup-miller-ehlers/

Best thread of the offseason. 10/10

Yes we are weak at 2C, I wouldnt say C overall just we have Aho and then 3 guys who should be third Cs..... If we dont aquire someone I suspect we will finally see Jarvis at center this year. I see what you mean with Freddie, and I agree to an extent I think we should limit his regular season starts and focus on keeping him healthy for the playoffs. He has been very good in the post season contrary to what some casuals think we DID not lose because of Freddie.... 2.02 GAA and a .907 % We lost to florida because our small offensive D men couldn't keep the Panthers from parking right in front of him.
-
In theory that would be nice, but i can almost guarantee you no one who will be an upgrade will be available.... much less a "stud" This is a list of goalies who are free agents in 2026 aka possibly be sold at the deadline..... the only one I see that might help us is a retread in Ned.... (honestly should have never gotten rid of him hes performed admirably in much worse situations since leaving).
-
That's the thing the more I go back and watch him (agaist teams that arent the canes) the more im sure i don't think he really has to fix anything, he has all the tools to excel immediately in our scheme, as its more quick read and react.
-
KKs flaws are he isnt a good skater, He isn't a playmaker and although he has a booming shot his wind up is so long he almost never gets it off. His sole value is as a defensive checking center. Basically I just meant a bust at the point we acquired him, which yeah he definitely was, Miller definitely was not... he had problems with Laviolets hybrid man/zone. Our defensive scheme is VERY friendly to big athletic/good skating d men.... Sjkei and Chatfield are great examples of it.... and while I do think we paid a lot I believe in our scheme Miller will pay big dividends.

Dennis Rodman’s son lands Summer League shot with the Hornets The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a promising 2025 NBA Draft class and will enter Summer League with no shortage of new faces looking to make an impression. But the most interesting addition didn’t come from the draft board. Instead, it’s DJ Rodman — the 24-year-old son of Hall of Famer and five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman — who’s bringing some extra attention to the Hornets’ Summer League roster. Rodman played four years at Washington State before making the move to USC for his final season. He wasn’t exactly lighting it up with the Trojans, putting up about 6 points, four boards, and an assist each game. But he did shoot well — hitting around 41% from the field and draining 36% of his three-pointers. Standing 6-foot-6, he’s got the size to play on the wing and offers some versatility, which could be just what the Hornets are looking for as they try to fill out their roster. The Hornets’ Summer League squad already has plenty of fresh faces with this year’s draft picks and young guys fighting for a role. But Rodman’s last name alone is enough to turn heads, and now he’ll get his shot to prove he belongs once the games tip off in Vegas. Charlotte’s Summer League team is already drawing interest with recent draft picks and young players hoping to crack the rotation. But Rodman’s last name — and his potential to bring energy and toughness — adds another layer of intrigue. What Rodman lacks in college stats, he makes up for with hustle and competitiveness — traits his dad was known for throughout his Hall of Fame career. If he can bring that same energy and show growth in Summer League, he could carve out a role and surprise some people. Though the odds are against him making the Hornets’ final roster, there’s no denying the spotlight that comes with the Rodman name. The Hornets kick off Summer League next week in Las Vegas. Dennis Rodman’s son lands Summer League shot with the Hornets

At this point, I only care what he does in 2025. -
Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it. Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center? I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie. It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2. I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35. However, are we solid at Center in your view?

Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline

There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think. It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac. He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming. He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards. THAT play showed me his fire.

Moton would have been a good pick and so would Travelle Wharton--it all depends on who else was selected that pick. Hangartner was a good one that I never considered. Montgomery is a great pick

NO WAY!!! I did not cheat or read any posts and came up with the same 4.

Have not opened this or read any other posts. OL: Ryan Kalil (59) DB: Josh Norman (143) DB: Captain Munnerlyn (216) DB: Mike Minter (56) It was hard finding the DBs....

They are practicing. Putting in their contracts that they can’t practice outside of what the CBA allows the team to do would be an excellent way to stay the worst team in the league forever.

Panthero started following Double post and Petition to change the board name to NFL Draft-- my autism cant take this

Banking on a 2nd round rookie seems bold, but I guess this season will be about development.

They plan to start Kalkbrenner and see what they've got in him.
-
Point stands though. Tough to sell another team on the idea of KK through 29-30 season. And then ask for them to give you something for the privilege? I think if he can be moved, he will be. Seems like Rod is done with him.
