Well I cannot agree with most of that.

I mean there's already a thread for the Bryce Young excuse party using these cherry picked PFF metrics, but here's my response. How many games does Bryce post abysmal stats and lose the game until it's his fault? He's 6-23 as a starter and regularly posts stat lines that look like a third string emergency QB until some garbage time pads his stats.

Now he'll be lucky to get another DC job without doing a stint as a position coach or going to college. -

Evero was kept because they thought they could get a draft pick if he was hired by another team. He didn't have enough time as a coordinator to get the Panthers a draft pick if hired at the time. They needed him here 1 more year. Of course the team will never admit that. -

Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?
PNW_PantherMan replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
Franchise is exactly the same age as us. Has a former #1 overall pick that has underperformed, and a new underqualified HC that was Baker's OC for 1 season. It's almost the same situation, but we got waxed by the Jags. It sucks but I don't think Dan and Dave are it. -

CRA replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
well, you suggested if he sucked year 3 with his dude (a rookie, they generally aren't' great) then he would be fired. So yeah, that the cycle repeating. Puts Canales' QB on the new hire. You limit the new HC just like Canales was limited. I still contend the Panthers like always failed to follow through on a reasonable plan. It sure looked like David Tepper green lighted Canales moving on from Bryce Young last year. Bryce never fit the hire and was bad on top of that. Canales got the thumbs up after a mere 2 games. The entire sports world conceded it was over. Biggest question was when and how we would part with him. Then the Panthers let the miracle comeback happen and somehow we have this weird and pointless season. But Dave had his chance/opportunity that clear was Tepper approved. I think for that reason, Canales got screwed because THIS season is when he should of gotten to pick a QB (even if it was a short term vet). -
Great post OP - looking at all the games there is a lot of disappointment from other clubs too. For me what hurt was we (I) had a lot of 'hope' after what seemed a good off season. I don't mind the 'errors' so much as those will happen...but little things like the snap of the ball, getting feet down after a catch...these are head scratchers. I don't know why our defensive coordinator is still here...I don't know what anyone sees in our safety Scott. Doesn't give me a lot of 'hope' for the rest of the season. But...Keep Pounding is our motto. 'Fans' that bet against their own team...'fans' that don't even watch? 'Fans' that root against our team because (insert / hate Tepper, hate whoever).. Really unsure why they even come to this board.

I mean I know you're being hyperbolic but the point about the culture being toxic is spot on. Leadership is the problem. When the owner is permeating toxicity from the top, nothing else is going to work. The best example of this is Washington under Dan Snyder, and even they weren't as miserable as the Panthers have become. It's just a comical level of ineptitude and poor leadership from David Tepper. -
How many games before they pull the plug for good

Yeah, he did kind of tie himself last year, saying he was our guy, at the same time though, I know its only perception and maybe it doesnt matter/shouldnt affect Teppers decision, but blowing another headcoach out so quickly is not going to look good. I know its 1/32 and feels like it doesnt matter and coaches will come and try regardless, I just wonder if at some point that ends up mattering, or maybe it has already since Canales wasnt exactly sought after. -

Birds of a feather. Evero was kept because that’s the standard. DC was as overhyped as Friters was. All of those guys did so little and were put on a pedestal by fans. DC had 1 OC year and the guy who just outclassed him did a better job in 1 year. Evero's only good year was with someone else's D and they still didn't keep him. -

The Panthers looked as if this was the first time any of them have played together. They were undisciplined and out of sinc all game long. I can sort of understand the defense struggling the first quarter but not the entire game. The offense should not be struggling right out of the gate. Thats coaching. -

I'm getting the sense that Evero was promised a level of control on the defensive side of the ball that isn't common with most teams. Canales is the head coach; if he wants someone to play, they should play. He shouldn't have to "push" for anything. Does Evero have it in his contract that he makes these decisions? -
At no point would it make any sense to bring in competition. This roster STINKS out loud, we are about 90% sure Bryce ain't it now. That's fine. Mid Round flier on a QB is a wasted pick on a roster full of holes. Jack Plummer stuck around cause QB3's stick around sometimes. They stink man. Nothing would have changed much other than a game here or a game there.

Bryce Young is showing real promise early in the season, and Week 1's numbers back it up when you dig deeper. Ranked 4th in completion percentage (66.9%) and 4th in catchable ball percentage (87.0%) among QBs with meaningful snaps, Young's arm talent and decision making stand out his passes are hittable, but Carolina's receivers left 150 yards on the field via drops, including a brutal 35 yard TD brick by McMillan and multiple from Renfrow (two for 30 yards total). Add in a 30 yard PI on T. Mac that screamed six, and his raw output (297 yards, 2 TDs) could've easily been his state line. That "second INT"? A dump off that bounced right off an wide open Dowdle pure receiver error, not on Bryce. His off schedule grade (71.1, 9th overall) and passing grade (71.8) reflect a poised pocket presence from a guy who's still just 24, adapting to a revamped O line and weapons. The unseen yards list is long (bad snaps, tip balls, etc.), but it screams "QB not the issue here." Young's processing and accuracy lean elite; give him reliable targets, and he's a franchise cornerstone in the making. #KeepPounding

Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?
hepcat replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
It doesn't matter that he's more hands off with the football decisions anymore. He spent the better part of 8 years breeding a toxic losing culture and he is still overseeing the management of the team. The leadership from the top down is broken, and until that is fixed nothing will change. -

I think Bryce Youngs "resurgence" from being benched last year ruined the chance to get rid of him. This is the make or break year and we know what its currently trending towards. -

They chose to resign Dalton and kept Plummber after looking like poo for forever. Im just not sure he has realized his mistake yet which says a lot about his ability. Same with Morgan. Insert Evero still being here. It's a trend -
This play is when I knew we actually hit on our #8 pick. Granted, I was high on him already based on what I'd seen, but that got me excited.

The Jags 1st year head coach made Canales look like a clueless moron. -
The only thing that is annoying about this is these nerds envision a perfect world where data is perfect and results are perfect and everything is so perfect. THAT WORLD DOESNT EXIST. Things go wrong! Did Bryce's teammates let him down a few times, YES! He can shoulder plenty of the blame though as well.
