[PFF] Tetairoa McMillan Will Unlock Bryce Young and the Panthers Offense!
CRA replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Vastly different things at play here https://x.com/panthers/status/1927478311468331310?s=12 vs https://x.com/receiverschool/status/1925146532061323647?s=12 and its why Renfrow is going to make this roster. Renfrow is a master route runner (specifically concepts in the slot) and has to milk every aspect of the game within the game given his disadvantages. But even here on the outside, he could teach Horn, XL, TMac. Because running that route like Hunter did would be much more impactful for the youngsters given the over the top threat they pose. -

I hear you completely. Even after all that and the talk of lack of preseason reps we finally played our starters against the Bills backups and we thought we were confident. We obviously know how that turned out. This year it is best for everyone to temper any expecations until we see the team on the road the first two weeks of the season. The onus is on the Panthers to make believers out of the fanbase.

[PFF] Tetairoa McMillan Will Unlock Bryce Young and the Panthers Offense!

Young had way too light of a preseason schedule given where he is as a QB last year. Canales needs to play Young a lot going into this year. Holding Bryce out has gone very poorly leading into both his seasons. Young got less work going in than legit proven studs did. He needs to have the workload of someone that has had maybe 3 good NFL games and the rest meh or horrible. -

The preseason reporting is almost all fluff and it seems like a gag order has been in place for years now vs pre Rhule takeover. Wearing a red jersey is when his issues are greatly masked and this is year 2 of thr same offense. Even coming off a historically bad rookie year the fluff was thick last year. - Today

Canes vs Panthers Rd 3 Game 5 8pm

Oof. Mikkola has been great this series. -
To be fair, the UDFAs being discussed at the start are the top UDFAs who get the largest guaranteed numbers. A quick google found an article from 2016 saying that 20% of the 500+ UDFAs made the week 1 roster. 2-3 per team. The top UDFAs draws are thinking mainly about team fits to make the roster where salaries dwarf the $250k. The non-top UDFAs are happy to chase the money and just want a shot, but those guys weren’t part of the original discussion about the highest guarantees being paid out.

Mikkola, Reinhardt, and Greer are back for Florida tonight. Let’s hope the Canes can put another good game together and send the series back to the Sunshine State to play for a chance at Game 7 in Raleigh. -

combo of scheme, playcalling and how you stress a defense IMO. Obviously, there is a talent aspect but I put the greater burden on Canales given how non-existent it was. -
Tommy Tremble will not be ready for training camp

Also, I'm really excited about JT Sanders and think he can develop into a big-time receiving weapon. I'm not a draft guy, but I did go back to look more into JT Sanders bc he really flashed as a rookie. Here is a link to his rookie highlights: https://x.com/4MR_Fetti/status/1925264757805797382 It could turn into one of the better draft picks the Panthers have made in the 4th Round. I didn't realize it, but a lot of draft guys had him as their #2 TE last year behind Brock Bowers. I do like what this TE group brings: 1) Tommy Tremble (versatile, more of an H-Back TE) 2) JT Sanders (primary receiving) 3) Mitchell Evans (end of line TE) -

If we can handle Florida's forecheck like we did in game 4 and not have awful turnover after awful turnover, we might be able to win -

We're all learning that while Canales likes to present himself as an open book, he can lie and say nothing via coachspeak with the best of the lol... -

Soft tissue injury? Where? That's such a vague statement. -

deep diving into the fact YAC is non-existent in this offense is just mind-blowing. They got to solve that if they hope to get this pass game out of the NFL gutter. and, I think that largely falls on Canales. -
Yes and no. Actually last years training camp there were a lot of questions about a lack of deep passes and Bryce Young had a number of miscues that led to us incorrectly assuming our defense was actually decent. At one point Shy Tuttle had a turnover returned for a touchdown. Need I say more? I do agree joint practices will be the most telling though.

My understanding is that Canales was asked about Tommy Tremble. Canales stated he had had back surgery, it was successful, and that they expected Tremble back for Training Camp. The Panthers PR person later clarified that Tremble will start TC on the PUP list. However, PUP during preseason isn't like PUP during the regular season where you definitely will miss time. Tremble can come off the PUP at any point, and to me Canales' statement made it seem like they were expecting him fully back near the start of TC. So, reading the team leaves, it seems like Tremble will be at TC but not practicing at least initially. Canales seemed to indicate he expected Tremble to be a part of TC, so that would indicate they anticipate him being activated around the start of TC. In terms of concern, who can honestly say? Its certainly not ideal that the surgery took place now. However, it does seems like this is an issue the team was fully aware of, and the plan was to rehab without surgery. The concern is obviously Tremble wasn't fully recovering without surgery, now the surgery will at least impact TC, and surgeries are never guaranteed. And back injuries can linger and rarely completely resolve. Still, there are a whole gamut of procedures that constitute back surgery, and while surgery is only "minor" when it's not your own, this doesn't seem to be a major procedure. Tremble is in the building this week, so it's obvious hes not incapacitated or anything. Will just have to wait and monitor. Im excited to see how JT Sanders and Mitchell Evans look in 2 TE sets since they fit more differentiated roles (Sanders is primarily a receiving threat, and Mitchell is more of a traditional TE). I hope Tremble is fully healthy for Week 1. This isn't the flashiest TE group in the league, but I think given the emergence of Sanders, as long as Tremble and Evans can be good role players we should be fine. -

Meh camp is where Bryce looks the best. The answers will start to trickle in during the joint practices and that game but game 1 has been the real starting line for the reality of the season the last 2 years. -

Yeah, it is. I don't know where the Reddit guy got his information, I was just relaying it to try to help with the confusion. Here is what AI had to say on the subject. "The Carolina Panthers' tight end Tommy Tremble will begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after undergoing successful back surgery last week. He is expected to be rehabbing at the start of training camp and is not expected to be a season-ending injury. There is no specific timeline for his return to game action." And here is an article I found. Just trying to help. https://www.wfmynews2.com/article/sports/panthers-te-tommy-tremble-undergoes-back-surgery-expected-to-miss-otas-and-minicamp-carolina-nfl/83-a432e6e0-bc21-48b9-b220-cef61ea8d38c -

I watched Canales press conference and he clearly stated they expect Tremble to be ready for training camp. This thread is suggesting Canales misspoke? Odd. https://www.reddit.com/r/panthers/comments/1kx2c1e/joe_person_tommy_tremble_had_successful_back/ -
Rod is 1-11 in the championship round. He needs to win in front of the home crowd tonight to show he’s the right man for the job. Those first three games against Florida were fireable offenses
-
My prediction is 9-8. If we can split with the Bucs I think we win the division.
