Freddie played well, gave up the short side for a goal, and wasn't challenged too often,but made some very timely saves. RBA put him in net last night because he was 18-3 vs Oilers going into the game. Blue line was very good and really locked down a very fast team, holding them to 18 SOG. Refs even gifted the Oilers a PP late and it didn't help. I have no idea how the ref saw Miller trip McJesus. Canes kept up the pace and pressure for 60 solid minutes last nite. Well done.

Then considering how we've handled the preseason recently might as well skip straight to week one regular season lol. Plus there will be World Cup this summer so won't have that huge July sports drought

Us losing Icky was bad but if we draft a tackle in this draft it could really help us out in the future. Moton isn’t getting any younger and has had injury problems himself. If Icky does come back and is able to play at the same level then we will have a way to replace Moton and send one of the tackles to the right side. another scenario is if Icky does come back and he can’t play even close to the same he was before and we end up having to let him go then we would really be in a bad situation with the tackle position if we didn’t draft one. Moton could be retiring or age catch up to him and icky being done with no talent to replace them would be a major loss to our offensive line.

Well as one of his biggest and longest non believers (pun intended), he has risen to a level that is acceptable if he can roll that out every week. But it only happened infrequently. And I am still not in love with it, he is limited physically and will always be limited. Acceptable though. A duffer can go out and golf on Saturday is likely to have a few really good shots. So why can’t all his shots be good? It is hard. It isn’t that hard to have some success in spurts. The trick is keeping it going. How many good games would he have to turn in to earn an extension? I would have a hard time coming up with 6 that meet a high standard from 2025. So, 8? I am no. Don’t have three more years for him to figure out how to get to 12 or 13. Double them? I might bite. Depending on the insanity of the annual pay. And then I thought about it. 12 games is only 2/3rds. I believe I would want more for an extension that paid him market value.

I am completely surprised that the GM has thinks the current goalie room is good enough. I hope that decision doesn’t bite us in the playoffs.
