  1. Past hour
  2. I mean I HAVE to assume he requested a trade even though either party won't outright say it. They put Coker on IR right afterward. So why do that AND trade Thielen AFTER cutting Renfrow? Goofy stuff.
  3. I think he's already in contention. highlight reel INTs like he had against the Jags will do that too
  4. I counted 1 - 2 uncatchable passes and a third that's debatable. I don't get why folks think that invalidating any accomplishment by Bryce or Evero means they're pro-Panthers. It's a weird justification. Not that you're doing that mav, just commenting on some of the general surrounding chatter.
  5. Jaycee is on GMFB on the NFL Network now they are talking about the Panthers win over the Falcons
  6. Luke should have been but was snubbed last year because Meion "fug face" Sanders cried that too many people were getting in and making him feel insecure so they changed the voting requirements
  7. Today
  8. If you go to Canton and see the NFL HOF, you would think that the NFL has the revenue of women's professional soccer. Not joking.
  9. IMO, UNC fans will be lusting after the Mack Brown 2.0 era after what BB likely does to them. The results are already in that vein. UNC has spent wildly on basketball and recruits for decades. More money is just "inflation" to an extent but I don't think a massive amount of cash is going to cure their ails. They have to get over this "UNC Family" sickness with basketball coaching hires and just simply hire the best candidates available. IMO, that really fixes the "problems" with the basketball side of things. Another sad truth that UNC fans I don't think have accepted is that it would take tremendously more money than they currently invest to become a relevant football school(something they have literally never been for any period of time). Not just money but the proper architecture. Ask Texass how that worked in the post Mack Brown era. Given the reported internal schism that led to the BB hiring(and current/future fiasco) this sounds very much like that fraught era of Texass football.
  10. Smitty would be in the HOF, but Canton is a “weak ass city”
  11. 100% agree. The eye test alone shows how great he was. And his prime years were with average to well below average QB play.
  12. You're struggling to hire a coach for $10m.
  13. I hope you understand that this Anti Bryce thing as you call it is really a pro Panthers thing. I think I can safely use we. We want the best for the Panthers. As far as this other post saying ‘Anti’ Bryce people do misinformation.. you mean like going all in on “Renfro should have caught” that poorly thrown ball? I guess it was week 1. And calling it a drop. Comical btw. I wonder, did you call that out or let it slide because it aligned with your agenda?
  14. These are great posts with the comparisons and the numbers. I haven’t lookyat Smity’s numbers since probably the first time he was on the ballot. But if you watched every week you know what he is. Whatever his yardage or targets numbers were. He was fuging dominant. I have watched since the AFL days and seen who there is to see. There are many great WRs over the years. GREAT WRs. Smitty is up there in the game of football.
  15. Smith is clear cut HOF if you judge what he did by reception. Fitzgerald was a stat padder. The most Steve Smith was ever targeted in his career was in 2005 (150 targets). The same year he wins the triple crown. Larry Fitzgerald was targeted more than 150 times over 9 separate seasons. Not once eclipsing 1500 yards in a season. The over glazing of Larry Fitzgerald going around is way over blown. ARZ was top 10 in passing attempts nearly his entire prime. Steve Smith and Andre Johnson had it far worse and would have surpassed his #s in the same situation.
  16. It's December 12th, 2024. You have $10MM, you have to hire a coach, then you can divvy up the rest of the money in NIL. Who do you hire and what players would you have gotten in the portal with what's leftover?
  17. Smitty’s career numbers to me are the 2nd most bonkers in NFL history among wideouts behind only Rice. He put up what he did on run-first offenses his entire career with mostly below average QBing. Most the other guys in the top 10 had elite QBs and all of them were in several pass-first offenses
  18. Brian Burns, Frankie Luvu, Jeremy Chinn. I would imagine Canales said to concentrate on Robinson. We did that and shut everything down.
  19. The talent level on this roster is late stage John Bunting level atrocious. Think about if we'd used that Belichick money on NIL budget. That's where college football is right now. It's about how much you can offer a prospect this year then we'll talk again next year.
  20. Steve Smith has a few disadvantages though. 1. There is a glut of Wide Receivers in or being considered. It shouldn't matter, but it might. 2. He isn't the most diplomatic fella. Also shouldn't matter, but it might. 3. No ring. Definitely shouldn't matter, but it might. If he had one, that might get him in over some of the others. I think Luke is the most likely Panther to get in.
  21. Maybe, but I also wonder if having almost an entirely different group of receivers than he did last year has a little bit to do with it. Our starters against Atlanta in the last game last year were Thielen, Coker, and Legette with Moore coming in. Legette is struggling, and might be gone after this season if things don't turn around. Coker is out, and Thielen is gone. TMac is a big improvement, but still a rookie. Renfrow and Young just look out of sync. If they can get in sync and Coker comes back, we could see an improvement.
  22. Will address each comment separately ... "5 Year Hole": If that happens, it's no different than where we were anyways when Mack refused to retire 2-3 years ago. BB may not work out, but at least the administration swung for the fences. Who else would you have hired in mid December last year? Think about how bad our talent is now, and then multiply that by 10 with what some low level assistant we plucked from wherever would've been able to bring in with no time and no budget. "Sticking Around / Son as HC": I have to imagine if BB quits before any success, that wouldn't bode well for his son sticking around. The fan base, alumni and administration aren't going to want to be reminded every Saturday when we are getting beat by William & Mary that there is a Belichick on the sideline. "Pivot": In my opinion, there are only two pivots to make if Belichick doesn't work. 1) Dump a truckload into football NIL, although not sure that's even feasible or 2) Take all that football NIL, dump it into being a dominant basketball school again, and relevant in football once every ten years with the luck of getting a Howell or Maye who are in state Tarheel kids.
  23. They are also worried because they haven’t been able to get their run game going which is how you manipulate our defense. If it’s just Drake Maye against Evero’s cover 3 all day they won’t break 20 points. Their defense is also much worse than Atlanta and Jacksonville (not quite as bad as Arizonas)
  24. If you look at Bijan's running on first down, almost all his attempts got 2-3 yards. He had only 3 decent to good runs in all of the first half. We were slowing him down on first down, forcing them to rely more of the passing game with 2nd or 3rd and 7's. The run game might fail again next week, but we did a much better job against Bijan than we did in week one against Jacksonville and against arguably a better back.
