Is Mike Jack already the 2nd best trade in Panthers history?
SOJA replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
found the thread you can peruse at your own time but I called this a home run trade at the time -
Depends on what you view as a needle mover. I think the offense would be definitively better with AT involved. Better enough to string together a bunch of wins? Highly unlikely. Luvu didn't want to be here. Which, coincidentally, neither in the end did AT.

Florida got dealt a second huge blow to their season. Now they'll have to play the majority of the season without Barkov and Tkachuk. Barkov is expected to miss the entire season and with the new rules, If they put him on full LTIR, he can't play in the postseason at all.
-
I'm not advocating for it. The Trevor scenario in today's NFL is horrible given what you have to pay that caliber of QB. It's better to either hit a homerun and get the next tier QB or bust on a pick. You just have to move on quick from the bust. We should of moved last year. I don't think there is any point talking about what the talk was when Bryce was drafted. He is nothing like Brees. Especially a young Brees.
-
I guess your place was sleepy when we knocked your azz out the playoffs last year.
-
Too early to say - they got some good pressure on Sunday - forced Penix into mistakes
-
Dan might have got 5 eventual starters out of this draft. Maybe this PFF driven drafting strategy works.

Xavier Legette has checked out. I see no fight in this manman

This is probably a bias. The really good HOF types have their kids hyped up and it’s hard to live up to HOF dads. The non HOF players kids aren’t hyped up as much because nobody knows who their dads are, therefore much easier to be better. See Jaycee as a great example. edit: misread your post, yeah I agree with what you said and think that’s accurate -
Nic and Prince' gonna be good ones

That’s not really true tho. Look at the playoff teams this year. All of them but the Chiefs and the Bills who use a TE as their 1 have a legit WR defined 1/2. -
Please no. This track would put the areas hardest hit by Helene right back in the bullseye. Nowhere near the amount of water as Helene but plenty enough to cause issues for areas still trying to recover. And that would be on top of and right on the heels of the heavy thunderstorms predicted to roll through in the coming days. Wouldn't be a great situation.

Schefter: Tet McMillan did not practice today (calf)

I don’t know how we can ‘know’ either way, we can only speculate what was going on in the family. I think it is clear it wasn’t his choice to leave that team and have to go elsewhere. Also that the family would be excited to go Home. I guess I just don’t give enough of a poo to make a big deal of it, like to impugn the FO over it or whatever other repercussions it has. I don’t really have a problem with the cap savings or the trade compensation. -
Make him and his team look even worse
-
Yeah, he just doesn't look to have the physical makeup of a dominant NFL DL. How is that other Michigan DT looking? Because honestly when I went to go look at Graham it was the other guy who kept jumping out to me. I think Graham benefitted greatly from playing beside another legit high level NFL prospect and being able to routinely go up against single team blocks in college (a rarity for a top 10 NFL pick prospect) really helped him shine.

I hate to tell you, but injured players fielding questions from the media as they recover is just part of the job as an NFL player. And he didn't seem to be "convalescing". He seemed to be confused and/or frustrated about how the situation whatever "the situation" may be is being handled. -

When has everything been absolutely perfect around him? Can't seem to remember that game. -

The man can't even convalesce in peace. -
For one. That wasn't even in reference to you. For two. I have no idea what you are trying to do here portraying yourself as someone others are scared of which is strange but okay. We're probably the same age. You can get in your feelings and lodge personal attacks all you want. People see you. I already quoted you in a different thread and linked the two threads you've created in the last two years declaring Bryce Young a bust. It is beyond comical that you attempt to put up this facade like you are the only rational voice on Bryce Young. You've engaged in as much foolishness as anyone else on the huddle. Don't twist an ankle getting down off your high horse my friend. I hope you have a great day.

So glad they didn't draft Mason Graham. And they would have if he'd fallen to us - over TMac too. That kid just ain't a top 10 pick. He'll be ok by year 3, but he'll never be a Derrick Brown.

I actually think he'd be a great change of pace back to Chuba and Dowdle. But they rarely give him run on the offense. Dude had one attempted punt return in college. One. And I don't think he'd returned a kickoff since his sophomore year. That's not a guy you pick in the 4th to primarily be a returner. Not when your safeties, ILB, Edge and WRs were bottom of the league and you already had a RB room predicted to be one of the best in the NFL. Just another WTF moment to me. -

Bryce has expectations the same as Legette. Except Legette does not distribute the ball. Bryce Young was sold as an elite ball distributor. At some point we need to see him elevate the moving parts around him as a first overall pick. Instead of him needing everything to go absolutely perfect around him just to be a serviceable starter. - Today

Thielen just needs more time to learn the offense. By year 3 we should really see things light up.
-
I simply do not view Thielen at this point as a needle mover. If you or anyone else disagrees that's fine. That's what this place is for. As far as former Panthers go I can agree we like most other fanbases tend to change our perception. But Luvu is still in his prime. Thielen is not. Again though. It's fine to disagree. He isn't here anymore so it is all just fodder anyways.
