I rechecked my roster- 5 LBs You have believe the top three are chalk. Then ST value comes into play, so early edge to Rhattigan. So that leaves ONE spot between Wooten, Cherulus, Bam, or Tuasivi Nomura. If anyone can prove to staff ST value, maybe knock off Rhattigan to cut/PS. This is perfectly "fine" for this team at this stage. Yes it could use starter level talent, but so could other spots as well. Other teams have this same layout, its not a bad spot. They have been training Cherulus for three years, Wooten flashed some after injuries killed the group, and both UDFAs got nice guarantees. Best man wins! I will say this- During the draft I would have MUCH rather they used the 4th RB pick on LB Or even the 6th round horn pick, but I didn't make the Panthers board. Look if all, I mean all goes right.....{hold/brace your ribs}.... And Panthers make a run in the playoffs. The 2026 sets up GREAT for the draft provided they are in the late 20s- LB, safety, RT(?), TE, and C. Those are prime spots in the 20s, 50s, and 80s. Now I need to wake up.....

That's what I would've preferred but I doubt he was chomping at the bit to sign a multi-year relatively low level contract.

Not cool The T-Mac jerseys were supposed to ship out by tomorrow, they've had it listed as such for a while now. But they just sent out an email saying they're being pushed back another 2 weeks, which is what it is. But it's a bit of a kick in the nuts to then go to the team's site and see they have a 20% off sale going on right now, including on T-Mac jerseys. So those who wanted it bad enough to order early have it pushed back the day before they're supposed to ship, and we get told that while you currently have them on sale, kinda a dick move Panthers/Fanatics. At this rate, they're going to end up selling them in other colors or the better quality version before these even ship out, which was the only reason I waited a couple weeks before putting my order in anyways, so dumb.

Should have signed him to a longer term deal to replace Moton after this year

It was Zack Sanchez. Wikipedia lists him at 5'11" which I think is bullshit. Dude looked like Bryce Young playing cornerback.

Carolina Going to the Super Bowl This Season
Lame Duck replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
What did Panthers do over the last 6 years to give you any hope? Or are you vesting into a bunch of unproven rookies and free agents who did not take a single snap for this franchise? Reminder, Panthers were historically bad last year. As much as I want them to go to Super Bowl, I want a damn winning season first then let’s talk about the playoffs…. Then maybe a Super Bowl. -

I keep telling people to put your life's savings into the Panthers winning the SB. I did and if they don't win I'm out $50. -

I get that his measurables day IOL but his playing style and skill set say OT. I'd use him as a backup swing tackle.

Know what you mean here. Ive had both of mine done and each time I was back to normal relatively quickly as well. I thought the same thing but then after consideration I concluded that maybe my and Derek's normals are not the same thing. I am not/was not 300+LB and my job and recreational activity did not entail me having to violently engage other 300+LB men with twists, bends and quick bursts in a combative manner. I think those nuances may play a factor in getting him ready for the season and may lengthen his process compared to my recovery.

by the way, that's a wrap. We now enter our annual summer long waiting period. Training camp starts sometime in July. First preseason game is Aug 8

He seems like a great guy---a real pro. We are lucky to have him

@Zaximus you made me think that even if my heart was willing, I just dont think the body is able anymore. I hope the gallbladder surgery went well and you are recovering but it just reminded me that if it wasnt my back it would be my knees that would keep me from it. One look at a mosh pit IRL might well cause my body to just surrender and collapse out of self defense

Posted before in this thread, he broke his leg late in 2015 after being dominant in the slot that year too, pretty sure that injury prompted us to sign Finnegan out of retirement (who to his credit was great as a late season injury replacement off the street). Not that it would've made much of a difference in the SB anyways with our OL getting killed, but we got absolutely decimated by injury at CB late that year with Bene breaking his leg and I think Peanut Tillman tore his achilles or something in like week 16. That was rough. But yeah Bene was truly a great slot corner, one of the best in the league, before that injury. Then in 2016 he came back out of shape and without the agility he had before and was just not good. Rivera inexplicably matched him against Julio without any adjustments that game and then we cut him. He had declined enough anyways but I hardly blame him for the Julio game. Dude was a slot corner who was already struggling that year, not someone you matchup against a guy who at the time was easily a top 3-5 WR in the league, if not the best...

Bene got scapegoated for that game. Literally. I think we cut him like a day or two after that game. He looked really good as a rookie but then had an injury that I can't recall exactly what it was and was just never the same after that.
