I don’t love Granlund but he’s the only 2C option out there right now. Since we have a ton of cap space I’d give him a bloated two year contract and basically pay Ehlers whatever. I’d also ship KK out for whatever and bring back Kuzy to center the fourth line. If we can move Ghost out and bring in someone like Karlsson then I’d go ahead and do that. I also don’t hate Burns for one more year. It’s a huge no on Orlov though. Rod would have to get over himself and let Chatfield play his off side though. Otherwise you simply can’t bring Burns back because he’s a third pairing guy who needs a speedy guy like Chatfield that can bail him out. The market turned really bad for the Canes really fast. This turned out to be a terrible year to have a lot of cap space with how much the cap rose. At this point I suspect they’ll make a hard run at Ehlers and then run everything else back.

I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3. Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. I think that Cam rubbed some refs the wrong way, but I had forgotten this stuff. Should not matter. I remember being furious with Rivera. I personally think Rivera was the most overrated coach in Panther history--he had Cam, weapons, a great defense--and never had back-to-back winning seasons. As a Coordinator in San Diego with Norv Turner (I believe) I recall a season when they were #1 on D and #1 on Offense and still struggled to make the playoffs.

@Basbear…definitely respect your opinion but Kon is baby Bird. He is way better than people think and actually has crazy upside. He does many things good but he is a worker and will get better. One of the most fundamentally sound players to come out in a while. Athletic ability isn’t everything
