I mean...that is a crazy easy schedule from start to finish. You are looking at one elite team and as many as three upper tier teams. Other than that, it's middle of the pack or cellar dwellers. I wouldn't start calling shots on us losing out. We have all been here before.

Well, Hooker was a guy that was drafted in the 3rd round pick sitting behind a well established starter yet Detroit somehow saw enough to let him go after two offseasons. Where does that fit into your ideal situation?
-
Like that matters. That's the first thing. I suggested that it's probably better to let a QB sit and learn, and that's what I meant. Secondly, in what planet am I making excuses, my friend, or engaging in any mental gymnastics in Bryce Young's defense? As I have said, I don't care if he turns into Mighty Mouse, it's time for him to go. In my opinion, he's too short to be a successful QB in the NFL. I have seen enough. I'd rather trade him and take my chances with Hooker, at least he's more of a prototypical size and can actually see where and why he's throwing the ball.

There is a scenario where our team comes out prepared to play football instead of shitting the bed for the first quarter. Every bad Bryce game seems to start with him looking incompetent - the OL looking incompetent - and the defense looking incompetent. Boom, down 14 before we know what hit us. Imagine a world where we come prepared and play with a lead, and Bryce gets to fulfill his ceiling by managing a game instead of playing catch up. He's bad, but upon reflection he is not Clausen bad. He can move the team down the field when he gets 4 - 5 seconds in a clean pocket against a soft zone. I don't think Clausen could do that.

You are literally naming almost entirely instances where they are sitting behind a well established if not star player that was already on the team. That's a different scenario entirely. Listen, if you want to make all the mental gymnastics for excuses, have at it. I think the facts are clear, Bryce Young is not an NFL caliber player. Furthermore, no amount of pine time nor change of scenery is likely to change that.

It's easy to conserve energy when you loaf most of a game, don't block, etc.

You see, this is why I'm more critical of Dave Canales

Until Young & Evero are moved out, I won't make decisions on the rest -
Bryce can't see the damned field. That's why he misses reads and misses passes. He gets no pass. He can't move the pocket and make a clean pass with any regularity because he's dancing on his tippy toes more than Misty Copeland.

Tepper loves a good car salesman as HC. -
Honestly, I think the lack of run game is what's killing the offense and hurting Bryce. If you look at the last few games of last year when Bryce played well, it's because he had a good run game and he thrived off the play action pass. This years run game has been trash and Bryce is struggling because of it.
-
I think that’s a pretty good rule of thumb. I would struggle to identify any counters, though I feel there are some lurking out there. People could argue for Flacco, Dilfer, guys who ran the gauntlet and didn’t get exposed. I bet the list of guys that did (get exposed) is pretty large.

So is Bryce "Dink" and TMac "Dunk"?

Smitty goes off on CLT on WFNZ

Edgy comment. It's not for everyone but there are plenty of redeeming qualities that keep former player's and their families around. Depends on what you want in life and what's important to you. I could give a poo about clubs that bump until daybreak. -

Such an odd coincidence, right? lol -
Ain't no wins coming fam. I will see my AARP card arrive before we ever dig out of this deep a hole.

This is a much easier schedule than last year. Outside of Buffalo and GB, there isn’t a game that we wouldn’t have a fair shot if we played like we did in the last few last year. New England? Not much better than us Miami? Probably more dysfunctional than us Dallas? Meh Jets? Prob only game we will be favored in Rams? Stafford can hardly move 49ers? McCaffrey will probably be injured by then and the defense is ancient Seattle? Probably one of the tougher ones but weird things happen in December Can’t really say anything about division games because they are all over the place. GB and Buffalo are going to blister our ass though

His opinions are hit and miss when it comes to players but he's spot on about CLT. Best decision I've ever made was leaving. No culture, no fight, very boring, too hot, lacks diversity, landlocked, no personality, has a massive inferiority complex, and has next to nothing to offer. It reminds me of another city that fits most of that as well: Indianapolis. At least that had Peyton. -
We stink but the next 5 games are winnable. It’ll dictate our season cause the second half looks a lot harder.
-
We prob win the next 3
-
This season might actually be entertaining in a masochist type of way
-
Bryce gets rattled easily, but the Cardinals were getting a ton of pressure. The OL was bad that drive.
-
We will be underdogs in every game. Ceiling is 4 wins, but realistically I see us getting 1-2.
-
His eye level is probably 5'5" to 5"6 being generous looking at the backs of guys whose shoulders are 5'8 to 5'10. It's a wide wall he can't see through unless there's a lane. Helmets are easier to see around than a 320 lb lineman's shoulders.
-
You dont even have to find a diamond in the rough. You just draft the pro bowl center over the RB with a torn ACL, and use Maye and BC as starters or, like you said, cap friendly FA guards. Probably could have gotten a couple in the draft with the 2 5ths we used to trade up for Brooks too.

What QB is worthy of the #1 pick? None of the top QB prospects are exactly lighting it up this year
