My line up to now has been that I want to see Canales with a new quarterback. That may still happen, but I'm betting heavily against it happening in 2026.

Bryce had a couple good plays, but he still was god awful at times. His play before the half lost us a field goal. Then when we got called with a bullshit hold he takes a sack the next play to again take us out of field goal position.

Just my thoughts but David Moore can stay on the bench. Roll with TMAC, Legette and Coker. I personally would take Coker over Moore. I think Coker is a lot like Chuba this year. Took a while coming off of injury to get his stride back.

Because the Rams were expecting us to run it those 3 or 4 yards. Thats why we passed in that situation. It was a huge gamble and luckily Young hit his receivers in stride for TD's. Great play by Young and great catches by McMillan and Coker. Its called gambling on your qb to make a play. I think its brilliant if it works.

I do not think it's at all possible for him to play well enough to earn that contract this offseason. He could play lights out the rest of the season and we win the division and I still don't think he'd have earned it. That would have earned the 5th year being picked up no question (something I don't think he's earned as of now), but not a big extension. He's 2.5 years into his career and still only has a handful of good to great games, even a real strong finish to this season where he's been very up and down until now, isn't worthy of a $40+ million contract. Actually play lights out the rest of the year and I admit he earned the 5th year being picked up, but short of him being the reason for an actual SB run this year, there's nothing he can do to make me say he's earned an extension. He'd need to prove it for a full season next year to say he's earned that.

Next guess our record when we open as the favorite the last 6 years?

I'm not so sure the extra week for Canales to make adjustments and prepare is a good thing for us. We're at our best when he keeps things simple, it's when he tries to get too cute with things that everything goes to hell. I even was calling it out in the game thread today, I thought Canales called a terrible game at critical times, but the players made great plays to bail him out. I thought the Coker TD was a blind squirrel finding a nut, calling a one step drop and throw 20 yards downfield on 4th and short was so dumb. But more than that it was all the 3rd down runs up the middle that got stuffed, but our RB's made great plays to bounce around and find ways to get the 1st down. It just always feels like Canales is trying to outsmart the other team but isn't smart enough to do it. Even the T-Mac TD the more I think about it didn't seem like a great call, it was 4th and 2 and it was mostly a bunch of downfield routes. Why weren't we running the 3-4 yard routes needed to get the 1st down and move the chains on such a critical play?

Last game against Saints, Horn fell down on both TDs. Something normally will not happen. Flip side, the Panthers offense was terrible. I don’t see either happening the next game when we go 8-6.

I imagine they’ll rotate Hunt in when ready. I’d be cautious of giving too many reps with so much time away.

He is great for protecting BY too, he is a elite run blocking mofo tho. Just not allowing the pocket to get smaller for BY, that is the insane value of having him. Hunt and Dbrown would be great in sumo.. I love that hunt is a bully RG, he can pull great for his size. He's very fast for a OLmen and like TD comes with bad intentions. edit- lols reply

Our run game has chugged ALONG without Hunt...... if hes back it a massive boost to blowing holes in defenses... hes also elite in pass pro soooo. Yeah.

I think it helps that the next team is the Saints. If there’s any silver lining to that last game against the Saints, it’s that I think they’ll have plenty of motivation and take it seriously this time around.

O yeah, if you asked me before the season started, Id voted for Hunt as the Panthers best player(given dbrown missed 99% of 2024). Now its flopped to which dbrown for sure has the crown back, but I do miss hunts pancaking fools....
