Where does Bryce rank as a draft bust?
mrcompletely11 replied to MRenshaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was cringe as hell when I first read it and its even worse now. Hopefully those stupid motherfugers wont fall for this poo again. https://www.panthers.com/news/inside-the-panthers-conviction-toward-bryce-young So what happened? Fitterer beamed while he told a story from dinner with Young when he fielded a question from the Panthers' contingent about his practice habits and weekly process. Fitterer said Young spoke with the kind of detail you can't make up, estimating his Sunday-to-Tuesday exposition took about 10 minutes. Young earnestly grinned when asked about the conversation in a press conference following his selection, saying that his weekly planning process was "a little bit long-winded of an answer; I'll save everyone from having to sit through that." But Reich, Fitterer, and Tepper didn't seem to mind it. In fact, that "long-winded" answer turned out to be a big plus. "At one point, Scott and I and Mr. Tepper kind of made eye contact, like, 'This is crazy,'" Reich said. "He got into how he was studying the film, and some of the things he said about that. I looked at Mr. Tepper; he looked at Scott. It was like, this is next-level stuff. "And listen, we've all been around, and we've all heard good stuff. The other guys said good stuff too. But this was just at a level that was different." -
I think I read somewhere that statistically the defenses we faced those weeks had some of their worst performances. I completely believe it was teams playing down to their competition. Not us actually being good.

I dont believe that poo for a second, hell man half the huddle was screaming "dont pick him" leading up to the draft. If we knew this kid sucked surely "professionals" could see it as well -
As for who fixed his mechanics... Well that would be Ken Dorsey... Who also worked with Cam Newton from 2013-2017.
-
Please stop hiding how bad the team is behind the little talent they have. That's how Burns got overhyped, hell they were doing it to Young after his 3 games in 2 years. Just eat the mess you made without making the next mess. No player is saving them from what they built. Deal with that.
-
Hey mr young how are you doing?
-
With Josh it was about coachability, if he wasn't coachable he wouldn't be in the league right now or he'd be a backup somewhere at best. His throwing mechanics coming out of Wyoming were... Awful to say it nicely. The Bills completely revamped his throwing mechanics from the feet up over a few seasons after he was drafted. (Go look at his throwing motion from draft workouts, year 1, year 2, year 3, and then look at year 4+. His feet placement is different, his hip rotation is different, and his arm motion is different. He was literally revamped as a QB. Yes he had the physical traits but so do a ton of other QB's that are drafted with horrible throwing mechanics.

Watching 2024 week 1 Cannales Presser again
HPPantherzfan replied to Newtcase's topic in Carolina Panthers
Did he not talk to the press last night? I missed it -
Not just going off this game, and it's not typically just one players fault...(but he was god awful in this game, saying anything else is having rose colored glasses on tight)

OFFICIAL Week 1: Panthers @ Jaguars Game Day Thread

What’s funny is a lot of (not all) the people who didn’t want a retread HC are the ones complaining about Canales. -Mike McCarthy- did decent up until leaving Dallas -Sean Payton- Playoffs first season with Broncos -Dan Quinn- NFC Championship Game first season with Commanders -Jim Harbaugh- Playoffs first year with Chargers but “oh no” we didn’t want them here. -
Pretty much Derrick isn’t a sack guy and everyone wanted to pretend like him coming back would fix our run D welp
-
Every one of 'those' games looked like the opponents were playing down and almost at practice level. It was a huge red flag to me but it was swept under the rug. The Jags played hard they wanted to win and they are not a good team. It's year 3 so it's going to be hard to spin this BS. With how bad the team is again we will see minimum effort from opponents at some point again so look put for it.
-
The Dallas game last year really stuck out and had me concerned. Looks like that concern was valid. Yes, he was impressive those last 3 games but it never felt sustainable. This game proves it wasn’t.

OFFICIAL Week 1: Panthers @ Jaguars Game Day Thread

I has totally forgotten about the pic six that should have been. My post wasnt a byoung defense post he sucks. It was more of a statement of how if he had just not turned it over and the panthers had not traded theilen they probably would have won the game today against a terrible team. But looking at the game today I do feel the panthers have a good enough supporting cast that if they had a good qb would be a good offense. -
In school. I the NFL if the other team comes to play then he isn't even that. His good games came when the opponent was playing way down to the other team.

Where does Bryce rank as a draft bust?
HPPantherzfan replied to MRenshaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
It wasn’t all on Bryce but you can confidently say allot of it was. The throw away in the endzone when Sanders was wide open. The under throw to Renfrow, the interception when he could have just ran the ball for 1 yard when no one was within 10 yards of him. To say this game was not on Bryce is a bit ingenious, to say it’s not all on Bryce is fair, the D still can’t stop the run be he himself left 14 points on the field plus dumb turnovers. - Today

Yep he is a dud but do are the coaches and a bunch of players they wanted. Teams will bring minimum effort soon enough and then the big time throws will come back but it's all just BS. Time to start looking for a new crew and QB. Should be a good year for both vs last year. Yay?

Derrick Brown is the Leader of this Team
UnluckyforSome replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
Their best day running the ball in 3 years. Panthers just got that secret sauce. -
Sure seems that way now but like with Haslin time changed things somewhat. I agree about groundhog day but me thinks this time is going to get ugly. The staff has no one but Dalton so they are going to have to eat that mistake. It's clear QB and DC are huge issues and time sure isn't fixing those. It's going to get ugly for them and that's the place where change happens. After 2023 Tepper did shift some, not nearly enough but there was a shift. That's all we have going forward, the hope taking a beating will force his hand. It's not great but it's all I got.
-
Hell one was literally on our team for a season. QBs come here and die. It’s who we are.
-
Yeah… the top of the QB draft class isn’t looking great. Seems Sellers is at the top of most boards. But he’s completed 11 and 12 passes on his first two games. Idk if he is an nfl level passer. Maybe Nuss cuts back on some of the silly plays this year. It’s still early, Beck is off to a good start in Miami. Maybe Dante Moore at Oregon shows QB1 talent. So guys could emerge. But I also wouldn’t be mad if we ended up with an Anthony Hill, Bain/Faulk, or a Caleb Downs type on defense.
