The only thing keeping the ACC alive is the Grant of Rights deal that has a massive buyout but that number is dropping each year. There is no real world option where the ACC can get a better tv package. The top schools will go SEC or BIG for all that money. The leftovers will either form some low rent option or get absorbed by big 12 and big east. It sucks but the ACC is toast.

Perfect - sounds like a good chance to get another Nick Scott on our team.... We will have the best special teams in the league while letting every team we play throw it deep against us

I think he could be a nice reliable 3rd down target. Let him find the soft spots in the defense. XL and TMac should handle the outside.

Assuming you're genuinely confused and not feigning ignorance, it's worth reviewing those last two sentences that were originally quoted: In one breath, there is a declaration that there is "no justification". In the next, "there is a bit of nuance that shouldn't just be ignored." And then ended with, "should not be entertained." It reads like a contradictory "no excuses" sandwich that suggests that there is nuance because we're supposed to just look at the other players at their position when that's already being done? Then there's the contradiction of suggesting that nuance "shouldn't just be ignored" being followed by suggesting that nuance "should not be entertained." Hopefully that helps with us understanding one another better.

Possibly one of the worst QB recruiting classes ever if it keeps trending the current direction. I know people are saying it's too early to write off Arch, but man... the fundamental issues with his passing technique are BAD. Shocking for a guy with that last name. Tough to see him being a top college QB much less a top NFL prospect with a mechanics overhaul. UNC landed a 4* in that class. He's since transferred to Coastal Carolina where he's a backup on a team that got blown out 48-7 by UVA.

What, cut Renfrow again? Thread title listed him as a good safety. I don't know too much about him, but all signs point to him being terrible. Just find room somewhere and do it? Who would you actually cut for this guy?

Renfrow had a serious medical condition that made him lose a lot of muscle and ability to even try to do physical conditioning. Its not surprise conditioning would be an issue

Agree. Be more consistent. But he did have pretty good games consecutively against the Chiefs and Bucs. And not bad against a very good Eagles defense the next game. Good enough to win but...

How about 2 legit good games in a row? I still think his post season benching is romanticized and overstated…. I mean his turnaround was amazing. But that had more to do with how bad he was than how good he actually became.

BY needs to be more consistent and continue to make big plays in big moments. Like take over a couple of series a game, particularly at the end. If he can't become that, then they should be looking for his replacement. You can not blame a QB for losses with the worst oline/receiver/coaching combination this team has ever had - in his rookie season at that. And then a below average receiving group to go with the worst defense in NFL history his second season. I don't understand. QBs aren't one man teams. It takes a team to win games. 11 on offense, 11 on defense, 11 on special teams, an OC, a DC and a HC. Let's have more than one play of 25+ yards of YAC in a season before condemning the QB for not breaking 300 yards passing a game. Perfectly acceptable to have high expectations but let's not be completely unrealistic.

Canales said it was a concern when he was justifying all his roster moves. Which I still say you can’t take what coaches say as the gospel when they are explaining things on a mic. Hunter said we got games coming up, so I guess we will see.

I think how good of year Hunter has boils down to Canales’ scheme and playcalling. If he just runs the stuff he did last year and asks him to run ATs routes….Hunter won’t do much

IMO, he has been pretty spot on about college football overall…..and IMO I think he was speaking not off a gut but just the general inside consensus. the end game is for the top of college football to essentially have their own league/division and that doesn’t just mean Clemson leaves the ACC….it means UGA, Michigan, etc all leave their conference too.

So you are a Carolina fan, and the administration knows this, if Carolina goes to the SEC they will be below Vandy and you and I both know I’m not kidding, they have not been the greatest and basketball lately either. It would be an absolute disaster for Carolina to go to the SEC. Look at SC, they may finally have something this year but they left the ACC in what? The 80’s? What have they done in the SEC in 40 years? That will be any ACC school that goes to the SEC or the Big 10 and they know it. Especially Carolina, they have nothing to offer the SEC, we already know that Clemson and FSU has been denied by the board, they couldn’t go if they wanted to…where would they go?
