Probably best to just enjoy this weekend for what it is. A playoff game With Shough in NO. Atlanta with a talented roster being an attractive destination for a HC, GM and then new QB. Tampa will be competitive again. We have the least talented roster in this division and it might be another long wait between playoff trips

Article: Panthers executive vice president Brandt Tilis is interviewing for the Falcons’ president of football operations job, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. The Falcons have also requested to interview Lions COO Mike Disner. The team is expected to offer the newly created position to former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. The Panthers hired Tilis in January 2024 to work with General Manager Dan Morgan on cap and salary negotiations. He previously spent 14 seasons working in Kansas City, including the final three as vice president of football operations. Tilis also worked as director of football administration (2017-20) and director of salary cap and football operations analytics (2014-16) after originally joining the Chiefs in 2010 as a salary cap/contract analyst. He was the lead negotiator on Patrick Mahomes’ contract. The Falcons also are searching for a new General Manager and head coach after firing Terry Fontenot and Raheem Morris earlier this week. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/falcons-to-interview-panthers-executive-vp-brandt-tillis-for-president-of-football-ops

The Falcons had a $50 million cap hit from Ryan, and then the Broncos said that's nothing, how about $89 million for Wilson. They did split the Wilson hit in 2 at least. -
Very much possible. I would suggest he avoids the AFC West though because his brother is there already.

Film run game issue, getting beat at Right Guard

Corbett is only playing RG because 3 others ahead of him at that position had injuries. Im not sure how much more depth you can have. -
Sounds like good scheming to me to get the most out of a limited qb.

I don't even blame Corbett. With the injuries he's been through, it's a wonder the guy can even walk. FO should have done more to address depth given the injury history. -
This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

My bad I didn’t mean the last Rams game particularly, just in general. Going into the 4th quarter with like 97 yards passing and maybe a td usually isn’t a recipe for success in the playoffs. He’s going to have to play good the whole game. -

I mean look I'm excited we're hosting a playoff game but I'm also disappointed in how we got here when we had so many chances to control our own destiny. But still, wouldn't have imagined we'd get the division this year -
Time to Start Roughing Out the '26 Draft--Needs and Pecking Order

CJ Allen is also in that gaggle of LBs after Styles. -
A team should do everything they can to prop up their investment in a QB regardless of who it is.

I am not wanting to be too judgemental of Morgan over his first draft given the circumstances. People don’t like my rationale but you know, I don’t so much like theirs either. I was adamantly against drafting Bryce and very resentful over the extreme (imo) measures taken to prop him up. I feel like Dan got caught in that trap with demands or conditions placed on him to help out the QB and the new Offensive minded head coach. And my biased opinion is that it was still all Bryce centric. Micro managed and solely focused on making him a viable player after his first disastrous season. Mandated to help the offense in that draft. I feel like my speculation is reasonable given the climate and situation, and it includes the reasons we didn’t take a C, the reasons we overdrafted a RB and that particular WR. It was totally need based. Perceived needs. All to maximize Bryce. And if it were me, and I wanted the GM slot of my team that I came up with, I would be willing to accede to the agenda that I feel was in place. The goals he had to meet. It is pretty simple, just put Bryce’s needs at the center of everything that was done and work your way through it. I have no idea or inside info, and people have mocked my opinion for it but that is what it is, it still makes sense to me.

We can’t lose this guy he is the brains behind the operation

If Buffalo chokes in the WC I could see them firing McDermott and going after him
-
Ehh this gives me Eagles firing Reid vibes. I think both parties will benefit from moving on.
-
Yeah agreed. I am not expecting a repeat of that game. And am not optimistic. Only hopeful. Foolishly, probably.

Wharton sure...and the 2024 draft. Whatever people are unhappy about with team building is on him if he gets credit for the positives.
