  1. Past hour
  2. From NFL reporter Matt Lombardo: The Carolina Panthers, at the time of signing, committed the most money in NFL history to a free agent pass rusher, plucking Jaelan Phillips from the Philadelphia Eagles, on a deal that includes $80 million fully guaranteed. Now in Carolina, Phillips is the centerpiece of an ascending defense that produced just 30 sacks while backing into the NFC Playoffs. Only eight edge rushers produced more pressures than Phillips’ 73 last season, which included 57 hurries, according to Pro Football Focus, which makes it easy to see why a Panthers organization that is looking to take the next step would pay a major premium at a premium position. In a division as wide open as the NFC South, Phillips and Derrick Brown are as formidable a duo up front as there is, certainly good enough to power a playoff push. https://bsky.app/profile/mattlombardo.bsky.social/post/3mgnnj2hojk27
  3. Per NFL reporter Matt Lombardo, a lot of deals were "made in a steakhouse over the last few weeks" The deals that drop at 12:01 are the ones that were never really in doubt. They’re the marriages that had been quietly arranged for weeks. Meanwhile, the genuinely contested signings, the ones where multiple teams are legitimately competing for the same player, those tend to resolve in the days between tampering and the official start of the new league year on Wednesday. That’s why you see the most coveted players “agreeing to terms” today, and by Wednesday both players and teams are shopping for ideal fits to fill needs and the best opportunities rather than making decisions built largely on securing a market-setting bag. https://bsky.app/profile/mattlombardo.bsky.social/post/3mgn4nawxmc2o
  4. I think you can also move Scourton inside like that too. Hopefully Wharton can stay healthy get going this year
  5. Exactly. You and me are the only ones pushing this - at least that I've seen on this board.
  6. He sucks and won’t push Bryce sadly but he’s also 3x the QB that current Dalton is so at least we’d have a chance in some games if Bryce went down. D should be great with these signings. Still think our upside is way too limited by the QB position though unfortunately. But I can see a winning season and more legit playoff berth this year
  7. You better have a hybrid, for lately. You get a buck for Burns, CMC, Darnold, Baker, DJ Moore. Shaq too I guess if we are talking a dollar. Butker and Piniero the cartel kicker. Who did I miss? Don’t go too far.
  8. This account just makes up fake info all the time. This loser has had a different account last season Do they bring Brady back? Probably but this account doesn’t have a hot clue
  9. can play all 5 positions of the O-line as good of back up you can get and likely on a team friendly deal due to his recent injury
  10. Tomorrow is the time to assess, one would think. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2031210595383497117?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  11. The #Panthers waiting to restructure contracts until after they've reached a massive deal (or eventual deals), in theory, allows them to assess how much they need to restructure individually and collectively. They don't have to kick the can down the road blindly or overtly. They still have plenty of wiggle room. It's a matter of shaping the cap with tangible needs and wants. Will it work out? Not sure. But it's logical. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2031124752480481651?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  12. Ok, now THIS one I like. Very reasonable contract. Definitely will make me forget about those other two contracts for now. At least now we can focus on the o-line in the draft
  13. He couldn’t even beat out Tanner McKee for a backup spot last year. I’m all for it like I said, especially as a UNC fan, but multiple teams have tried him and he hasn’t beaten literally anybody out.
  14. The Panthers are working with Brady Christensen on a possible extension. Nothing urgent, but mutual interest. https://x.com/bthatespanthers/status/2031072515842605383?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  15. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Samac ends up starting. Hes spent a year with us and it’s possible our staff feels like he can be a decent starter. We wouldn’t have let Mays go if we didn’t feel confident in replacing him. I feel we could also find some cheap vets or draft a center. Tackle is the bigger issue. We don’t know if Icky will even come back to be a starting level tackle. Moton is 31 and we need his replacement as well. Drafting a tackle in the first would be the best option. We also need some depth if one gets injured. Yijman is a great option and so is BC but we don’t know when he’ll be back
  16. PFF LB Devin Lloyd signs with Carolina Panthers 2025 PFF Grade: 88.4 2025 PFF WAR: 0.24 Contract: 3 years, $45 million PFF Projected Contract: 3 years, $48 million PFF Contract Grade: Good After two years as a good linebacker, Lloyd became one of the game’s best in 2025 by producing an 85.2 PFF run-defense grade and a 78.9 PFF coverage mark. Carolina lands a much-needed playmaker over the middle after placing 29th in PFF overall grade at linebacker, and to add Lloyd below market projection is terrific.
  17. If Princely can figure it out, Evero could really have some pieces. 1st and 2nd down - Phillips/Scourton 3rd down - Phillips kicks inside w/ DB, Scourton/Princely off the EDGE w/ Lloyd and Moehrig patrolling.
  18. Man, fug Matt Boyd. Should be deported. Haha.
