I hope Stefanksi flames out in ATL but Baker hasn't changed one bit. Busy trying to settle scores through the media instead of focusing on his craft and not returning to the form that got him jettisoned from Cleveland in the first place. I love that the Bucs are getting to see the real him.
-
Or how about Kirk who had an incredible 250 yards receiving this year. XL finished season with more yards than Kirk.
-
I think it’s pretty clear he is. He cut off beane when he was going to answer the question about Keon to blame McDermott and the coaching staff for picking him. And then said one of the reasons he fired McDermott was after seeing Josh Allen crying in the locker room after the game. Everyone talks about Buffalo being an attractive job because of Allen, but I’d have to reconsider after hearing the owner pretty much telling you that’s he acting quickly on emotions and is giving all credit for success to the GM instead of the coach who helped guide them to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years (with Tyrod Taylor at QB) and 7 out of the next 8 years. Just a really bad look all around.

Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson

I suspect the Vegas win total line will be around 7.5 -
I feel ya. The only thing I really disagree with is the catch. I have listened to plenty of analysis, have seen stills and of course video. I will never believe it was a catch, as Cooks did not secure the ball, which allowed the receivers hands in there and snatch the ball away. That wasn't a running situation. Knee down on the ground and ball in hands does not count. The process of the catch was not over. As far as OT, it is what it is. That's why it's a team sport. The D let him down in 13 seconds.

The hyperbole is amusing but ultimately nobody cares about press conferences. The Texans seem to be a fairly well ran organization with a solid coaching staff. If they're smart they'll buy low on Stroud and keep a backup plan. The rest of the roster around the QB is plenty capable. And as the playoff picture has shown this past year it doesn't take much to get into the dance for them. Remember when folks here were clowning them for having 2 wins early in the season? They still won another playoff game while we're still trying to get over the hump. As far as playoff meltdowns go. Sam Darnold had a meltdown against the Rams in the playoffs as the Vikings QB a year ago and most of us laughed our asses off at him and now he's a game away from the Super Bowl with the Seahawks while the Vikings sunk back to joke status. It's an unpredictable league.

Good on Beane for that. Maybe the owner is just a mouth breathing moron. lol
-
Has had issues with professionalism and hasn’t been good when on the field. Still, he was a high second round pick and has 2 years left on his rookie deal. Still, Pegula basically tanked any trade value he could have had, even though it’s probably not much. Keep in mind that Dan Morgan got a 4th rounder for Jonathan Mingo who was far worse on the field - I doubt they’d get anywhere close to that value now if they planned on getting rid of him.
-
I wonder if they’d do XL for Keon Coleman straight up
-
Keon Coleman is absolutely trash. He is like 10% better than XL, at best.
-
Pegula hadn’t done a press conference in 5 years, maybe there was a reason for that. Then Beane had to backpedal after he jumped in… ”Keon Coleman was "my pick," Bills GM Brandon Beane clarified. Expressed belief in Coleman and said it's the team's job to continue to develop the young wide receiver. Coleman's issue is off the field, Beane said, and the GM appreciated the WR never making excuses.”
-
He was atrocious against Pittsburgh too. It's more than "a bad game." Also, it isn't just a bad game because he looked completely lost and completely overwhelmed. Closest I have seen to that are the classic Darnold meltdowns where you can see on his face in the game he isn't gonna recover. And he looked that way for two straight playoffs games with a potential cakewalk to a Super Bowl appearance. That's insane to melt down that hard on the biggest stage. He has been on a fairly steady downward trend across his three seasons, so I am not sure what the deal is with him. That was such a massive meltdown and the way he has handled the press conferences since would make me very, very, VERY worried if I was a Texans fan.

Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson

It's too early to make that statement with a lot of certainty. Still have a full offseason cycle. That said, ain't no way in hell I would make a bet on 10 wins, that is for sure. -

No, I mean probably 2027/2028. I am gonna guess that once Dave is on the hot seat, Dan is gonna be not too far behind. I think if we drop back to being a 4-7 win team again in 2026 that Dave's seat is REALLY gonna get hot. -

I do disagree. Mays is a genuine weakness as a starter. We forget what elite center play looks like because it has been so bad since Ryan Kalil left. The Ravens are pretty cap tight at the moment so unless they get that deal with Lamar prior to the start of free agency, it is POSSIBLE he gets away from them. I agree that it is unlikely. I would just personally not have any issue at all inking him to a $18 mil AAV deal for the next 5 years. That's a position that means a lot on an offense. -

There are several other edge rushers available in Free Agency but I think the two players that could make a difference are Crosby and Hendrickson. Crosby isn't a Free Agent and would required a pretty hefty price tag including several picks. One site I saw said #19 a 2027 2nd round and some other picks. IMO that's too expensive. Hendrickson is a Free Agent and maybe due to his age and recent injury he might not command the 25 million but that's only an opinion. So, our choices are Trade for Crosby (Not a good move) Hendrickson and pay big bucks, Draft an Edge (our 3 one in 2 drafts), or Find a 2nd tier Free Agent. The way Morgan operates I believe we will address every position of need through free agency and go BPA at 19. -
Schultz missed almost the entire game. I'm not talking about the skill group when healthy. I'm talking about the pieces Stroud was missing in the specific game against the Patriots.

18 game season plus all teams doing 1 intl
jopie87 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every team makes the playoffs. Seeded 1 to 16 in each conference. Playoffs end sometime around St.Patricks day. Every team has a 20 game schedule but each player can only play in 18. League makes billions while making the structure of Baseketball look simple. - Today

Its Styles, Reese, Hill Jr., or CJ Allen for me - I know we badly need offensive line but we cannot draft offense this many years in a row. The defense needs a stud. Hopefully several teams reach for QB's and allow the LBs to drop. I'd even double down and draft two in the front 7 in the first two rounds if we can address offense in FA Edit: Apparently Reese is mocked top 5, so there goes that. First time I've looked at the mock drafts Panthers and Morgan need to focus on stopping the run and getting pressure with the front 7. That should be the #1 goal this offseason. Ain't no QB's available to challenge BY so that will have to wait

Shaheed ain't happening. Someone is going to give him WR1 money after these playoffs. Probably the Bills to appease Allen -
It's the groin injury from the Las Vegas game back in October which continues to get re-aggravated every time he takes an awkward hit. Latest is he will likely miss Thursday, but may start skating in the next day or 2.

I want the following: LB - Devin Lloyd (our big money splash) I'm also interested in Nakobe Dean if we go the cheaper route. His size is a concern beside Wallace, but Dean is a Dan Morgan type of alpha leader of the defense. He's often called the heart of the Philly defense and would absolutely bring a swagger and be our field general on defense. We need this so badly and I'd almost rather go with him because Wallace is no guarantee to ever hit his potential, so maybe we go with Dean and find a Wallace replacement in on day 2. EDGE - Boye Mafe (SEA) I think he's a great blend of pass rush prowess, age and experience. We have our potential youngsters in Scourton and Umanmielen, let's add a vet from a successful franchise to bring some heat. Bye bye Wonnum....bye bye Jones. We roll with Mafe-Scourton-Umanmielen TE - Cade Otton (TB) Again, we have youth in this position w/ Sanders and Evans. Sanders is tracking similarly to Ian Thomas (age/stats) and wonder if he will ever be the TE we thought we stole in the 4th round. Evans looks legit, but more of a balanced/blocker. Sign Otton, who Dave is familiar with and save some money by cutting Tremble. Also allows us to roll Otton-Sanders-Evans in 13 personnel WR - Wan'dale Robinson or Rashid Shaheed I wonder if either of these will be priced out of our range based on age and what they bring. We do already have a 5'8" WR with Horn, Jr. so I'd see the argument against Robinson. However, the latter is still only 25 and just hit a 1k yard receiving season with suspect QB play in NY and an elite talent in Nabers on the roster. SEA gave up two '26 draft picks for Shaheed and he has stepped in nicely for the 'Hawks...doubt they let him walk. I also saw Doubs on the FA list and wonder if he'd be what we need. We need a separator that can be a deep threat to keep defenses honest. TMac/Coker are the bigger receivers, but not necesarily guys that scare a defense....would Doubs be that guy? SAF I'd like an upgrade here and wonder if we wait out the FA period until the latter stages if someone like Ar'Darious Washington or Jaylinn Hawkins lingers and there's a discount later in the game. Nick Scott can F off and I hope he never suits up for us again. -

I just can’t see Morgan as being under the threat of unemployment at any time this upcoming season. As little as ‘winning’ the division and making the playoffs impressed me, I think to Tepper it was like nectar of the Gods. A milestone for him. And the team did play well in the Wild Card. That has to buy him 2027. I would think. Unless we start 0-8 or something. Which I don’t believe will happen.
