  1. Past hour
  2. XL, Coker, Horn, and a heavy dose of TE's should still be fine to catch 11 Bryce passes
  3. Young, Tarkenton, and Brees were all “short” for their eras. Doug Flutie was downright tiny. Every one of them had a superpower to offset it, something that made their height irrelevant. I like the kid. I really do. But a superpower? Nah.
  4. They have with a different team, but that fact remains. It was part of the reason Kalil did his "we're going to the SB". Cam got there in year 5, like the saying stated. I do think a duel threat is a huge % of what you need. The problem remains, QB is still played from the pocket. If you cannot avoid pressures, hurries, and sacks...You need those wheels to save you then. Tom Brady was the best in NFL at avoiding pressure, sacks etc and he had no wheels at all. Still its a package deal, cause I point out fields or AR. I think more time is needed and better teachers are as well. Buuuuttttttt the collective bargaining deal limits practices and training. I feel BY would improve if he was allowed to practice more, same goes for many other young QBs.....but there's no time, its right now or "Hey checkout this college QB..."
  5. the only guy you are talking about is darnold, his skill set has always been exceptional but mentally he implodes in pressure, we saw it last year. Lets wait and see what happens as the year progresses with him.
  6. He's gonna do the Super Bowl halftime show after we make it this year.
  7. Right, because if football players think their teammates suck at the game that means they dont like them in general as well...yeah that's how it works.
  8. At this way too early point, i would be very happy with Arvell Reese. He can blitz from the off ball lb position but OSU also lines him up on the edge to rush the passer and he is very effective.
  9. back in my younger days I used to try to wish players good. At this point, I now know a Josh Norman bad to great story is just something that can randomly happen. But you can't put stock and build off such beliefs. Those are random examples, you almost never see those coming. 3 years in, if you don't pass the eye test.....it's just the right call to play the odds that they ain't got it. Because it's basically overwhelmingly the right call.
  10. I'm not, he doesn't have it... I just think bringing up his overall record is is irrelevant, especially since we've seen QB's in bad situations with bad teams go somewhere else and start winning, its just short sighted thinking
  11. From the panthers official Instagram lol winning sure is fun https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQpCuYXkSpQ/?igsh=MXR5aTF1MXpyMTgzbg==
  12. I get the sense most folks on this forum skew a little older. We’ve all watched enough football to know the difference between a Hall of Famer and a guy who just isn’t it. If you’re still looking at what Bryce brings and convincing yourself he’s something he’s not, you’re just holding on to the wish that we didn’t screw up the #1 pick.
  13. I mean, but, sounds like an old wives tell.....because it's not true. Lots of QBs have won their first Super Bowl after 5 years in. IMO I think given the simplistic nature NFL offenses have trended.....there is less of a reason to wait around on players. QBs make easier throws. Athleticism matters. You either got it or you don't. NFL teams aren't going to build and rely on old NFL offenses because no one can step into those offenses. So you get your answer relatively quick today given what NFL offenses have simplified to.
  14. The Panthers will be the Panthers no matter how many names change. Just gotta laugh and roll with it.
  15. we should care about his limited production and focus more on what he does and doesn't vs what the collective team is able to pull off.
  16. The real question is how much do Wilson own Dax Milne and the oline for his one standout college season - making Wilson a multi-millionaire. The fact he went nr 2 is laughable. Neither is NFL talent.
  17. Today
  18. Fitz, Thanks for the good summary! I cannot disagree with much. Still glad this isn't another 2024 season, so I will take this late season playoff flirt....
  19. He's 5-3 this year. NFL is the epitome of "what have you done for me lately" business. Bryce isn't good but nobody should care about his rookie season record, just like they don't about Darnold's
  20. Because we have Bryce this year and id rather have Bryce next year as opposed to a a ron
  21. Maybe you go well Alex Smith lost 28 out of his first 44 and still salvaged a journeymans career out of it. Is that the bar of success we want? Alex Smith?
  22. The only way Bryce should get an extension is if they make the playoffs and play decent in the playoff game, which means he needs to go 5-3 the rest of the way to win the division, or 6-2 to get a wild card. There is no reason whatsoever to give him an extension otherwise, its not like he is going to hold out if he doesn't get one
  23. I think we split with the saints, split with the Bucs and lose to the falcons on the road. I think we win one of the nfc west games but I’m not sure which one. I’ll go Seattle just for the heck of it. leaves us at 8-9 on the outside looking in, but a respectable season put forward by Dan and Dave in year two of a rebuild. This season will be a “what if” for a while especially given the two winnable games that were dropped in the first two weeks.
  24. I view QBs differently given the last five years. There's even that older obscure fact that if a QB has been with a team over five years and no SB, it will never happen. Now it feels like the league gives QBs three years and if no success, find another QB. Teams are in panic mode now too often and QBs......these poor QBs....Sure the money is great, but its unfair what's being asked of them. Deal is unless you have Allen, Mahomey, Herbo, Jackson, or Burrow you need to spend resources on finding a QB. Stafford(current MVP?) and others in this group, age and other factors means they are not long term like the first five listed. Wait those three years and you may be able to late pick swap for a QB drafted #2 overall.
