WE WIN FUG BAKER MAYFIELD THREAD!
joeyxfresco replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
Love the win can’t hate on Baker. I hope Tampa gives up on him and he lights it up outside of the conference -
Who intercepted Baker at the end of the game? Did you notice that Jackson was playing NT? I was under the impression that Tmac caught a few balls. I think Evans caught a pass and broke a tackle. Hmmm. Etienne had a solid return or two. Our kicker was clutch. While he made a stupid mistake, Princely played a role. Jimmy Horn had a sweet reverse for a big play. Not sure what about that you missed. When I see our rookies catching passes, interecepting passing, running or returning the ball effectively, and kicking the game winning FG--I think, "Yep. That's Scourton for ya!"

I wasn’t thinking 8+. I’m still critical of our GM, DC and QB but we’ve won big games and we’ve got a good chance at the playoffs. Way more than expected but just my pet peeve that I still get annoyed like we are all set and all’s good. The AFC North is the only other division where we’d be close (1 game back) and we needed Tampa to fall apart (1-6) to get in this win the division chance in week 18. Job isn’t close to done and the current crew needs to improve a lot to get us to SB contender.

I think it has to do with them being allowed to use their own balls. Wait, that didn’t sound right. -
The OP in this thread stated Morgan had done a bang up job in the draft and free agency. SmokinWithWilly’s quoted a post which simply said Morgan is not Fitterer. SWW concluded with, “Not going to crown him a GM god after a year.” That’s a classic strawman, as no one said that Dan Morgan is, or should be considered, a GM god.
-
“You can’t say how much Dan did or didn’t influence decisions that were made,” and “You’re making a lot of assumptions,” both said while disregarding your own assumptions to imply that Dan must have had a lot of influence in the decisions that then-GM, Scott Fiterer, made. Can’t make this stuff up.

Yeah I can see being annoyed with that. I think he is just trying to get motivated to play against us. He did throw that pick and had BB hugging him afterwards and kept his cool. He goes to battle for his guys and puts it all out there and I'm a fan of it.

I think he's been playing injured for a few weeks now. He definitely did not look right.

The only social media I want to see out of XL this offseason is….

Horn, Moore and Tremayne should be taking XL's snaps. -

Baker is a crybaby bitch. -
That isn’t a strawman argument

Umm, no. 2017 was way better. CMC, Moton, Samuel and Butker. Heck, 2021 with Horn, Tremble, Hubbard and Christensen was probably better. 2025 seems solid because 2018-2024 were poo with maybe one good player each year. These praise threads are kind of funny. We have a solid win and they show up, literally the exact same poster and content. Not after the bad losses like NO. In case no one’s remembering, we have had rookie impact/starters since Rhule came to town. It’s more a factor of losing all our strong vets from CMC to Cam to Moore to Olsen to Luke to TD to Short, even Reddick and Luvu and many more. Dressing a lot of rookies has been happening for years because we had really bad starters and bad depth for a while now. It’s nice to seen some plays from Scourton but let’s not act like TMac isn’t our only impact rookie. Right now, if we look at players who are at least average NFL players and TMac is it. We had 5 rookies who started games last year and the undrafted one is the only one I could see developing into an average WR2. Scourton may get there but right now the 2025 draft isn’t some panacea, it’s a good draft for depth. If we really want to compete we need to get 2-3 impact starters every year.

Baker Mayfield has always been a douchebag. Fug that guy and anybody riding with him

Nobody is crowning him. They are saying he had a good draft. You are making a classic strawman argument.

That step out of bounds on the sideline catch lmao -
100%. Add in Fitzgerald to the UDFAs.

And you can't say how much Dan did or didn't influence decisions that were made. All I can look at is what's happened while he's been part of the organization. And there's no way to know why he was hired either. You're making a lot of assumptions. From what I've seen from Morgan as GM alone, 1 horrible draft and FA period, one good looking draft and FA period. Not going to crown him a GM god after a year. Sorry.
