  2. Losing Necas would be worse than a majority of Canes fans think. When he's on he controls the puck with speed and gains zone entry so well, he is still young. He should be considered part of our core.
  3. Today
  4. Raym is like bozeman, based on what I read--lacks the lateral quickness he needs--however, he is supposed to be a beast / bully when he engages. I was watching Popo a bit, and he is a perfect PS developmental 3-4 DE. Coker should make the roster because if we put him on the PS, another team will take him.
  5. Happened with the flames just a few years ago also happens just about every season for the oilers but I wouldn't count that as they have two of the top 5 best scorerers in the NHL
  6. "Monetizing them directly" means they were already being monetized, just not directly through the educational institutions they attended. Many of these kids grew up poor and because they're good at a sport, they can get 100% free tuition. Everyone knows that people were giving them money, fake jobs, lottie de lottie da. My point is, the purpose of that free sport related education is completly missing the mark. Putting these kids on a pedestal in High School through College, basically giving many a God complex just to line their alumni's and their own pockets is destroying the future of thousands upon thousands families, in addition to selling them false hope of sustained success...

  8. Questions like this is why we’ll see a CBA before it’s all said and done.
  9. If you "break" your "contract" because you want to go "pro" and maybe make more money ... does that void your college contract? Or like in some odd pro sports cases, will a kid still get paid the term of his deal?
  10. Which should take the elite talent out of the transfer portal assuming school’s sign guys for the duration of their college eligibility. That’s about the only good thing I can think of that might come from this.
  11. And with these BS high schools like IMG Academy and various preps, high schools will be the new college with kids going to high school all over the country just to play sports and not even learn an ounce of knowledge.
  12. The easiest way to get in compliance with title IX has been to eliminate men’s sports.
  13. It’s not about money or Tom. Waddell is 65 and had a lot on his plate in Carolina to include a lot of the business side of the things.
  14. First. You did just a great job with this video i am going to share it Second, id subscribe to your channel if i knew the channel third, im seriously into horses snd xavier has a horse named ‘dolla bill’. …my new favorite player
  15. These aren't kids. They are working aged, voting and military eligible adults who could be fired just like any non athlete with a job. I'm not insensitive to the concerns but it is pretty clear cut what it means and it's not pretty from any angle. I don't see college sports popularity improving over time. It's lost all charm
  16. Not too much to read into. It's a hard cap, Dundon is pretty tight with the checkbook and Waddell has been here 10 years. Time for a change and I'm willing to bet Waddell was not part of RBA's contract negotiation. Mutual parting of ways.
  17. It’s either two things. Wads wanted more money OR Tom had enough of coming up short every year. It can’t be anything else.
  18. This whole thing still seems fishy to me. Id love to find out when the truth comes out in the future.
  19. I bet he tries to take necas and pesce/skeji with him with some surprise in there like Drury or Chatty
  20. Of course, as the only GM position open, and he interviewed last week, he's got a new gig. Title as yet unclear: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2917919/report-blue-jackets-expected-to-hire-waddell-for-top-hockey-ops-job
  21. He's just next up on my list. He's an OK player but could definitely be upgraded If we want to contend.
  22. If they do get cut/fired ... you can bet you'll get people everywhere saying, "That poor kid!". This whole thing is inane.
  23. Gilbert`s stats is still top 4 for DTs in our history, so not a good example.
  24. Personal opinion is that Westwood and Diani are a little redundant. I’d like to see more attacking players in the middle but for the past few years, regardless of the coach, they essentially prefer two CDM’s and one CAM (which we don’t even really have). Westwood would be fine as a lone CDM, as would Diani. But I’d want a better two way CM next to one of them along with a DP CAM.
