We pretty much have to take a RB on day 2 in the draft, right?
PappyMay replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
just depends what plays out in the draft. Someone may fall and be a steal when we pick 32. Maybe Evans from Ole miss or Tucker from Syracuse with the 49ers 2nd Rd pick. -
I hate to see him go, but understand the long term reasoning. If Gibbs from Bama or Robinson from Texas falls to pick 32 we will be lucky and hope this pans out.
-
And all the starters are under contract next year with Cade Mays to keep developing and fill in if needed so should keep on improving!
-
I am, because its on the local Channel here in Birmingham,AL. We dont usually get to watch games live ,but about 6 times a year sadly. Usually just listen to them on wife's Sirius radio.

I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
PappyMay replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
You can’t let someone like him just walk. Atleast need to be a able to do a sign and trade or tag em them trade for 2nd rounder to contender or something. -
Reevaluate your win/loss record for the Panthers at halftime.

I went from hoping 9-10 to expecting 3-4. Now I can’t decide if hope we are terrible and get CJ Stroud or still win 5 games and get Will Levis -
More are starting to believe in the Panthers

I’m choosing to be positive. Really think we are a wildcard team if CMC and Baker stay healthy. Also really trusting in Fitterer. Would love to see us trade down to late first and grab some more draft capital and keep building this thing out. -
Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault

that's literally what I said. Next Offseason. -

Hoping for the best. If he looks like a solid WR4 if will make parting with Robbie to save on the cap alot easier next offseason. -
i really like Sewell too. My dream realistic dream scenario is pick at 16-18 then trade down a few picks to get a 2nd or 3rd rounder to recoup draft capital. Grab Sewell or our starting high level center of the future.
-
Pick 32 is first pick of 2nd round. Hope we aren’t picking then! Miami doesn’t have a first rounder this year because of tampering.
-
Hoping he has a solid year. Would love to sign for a 3 year extension, 80% guaranteed at the Tannehill/Jimmy G price tag of about 28 a year assuming we win 9 games or more.

Baker Mayfield has a lot to prove, period!
PappyMay replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just think he can take this team further than Sam. I don’t think many are calling him a franchise savior yet. The optimistic people like myself just hope we are in the hunt for a wildcard and win 9 games after these last few years. With him and this new look Oline I’m hoping for the best. Keep Pounding -
4, was hoping to see what the rookie had to see if it still needed to be addressed next draft with this loaded draft class. What happens if Baker does decent? He wants 25-30mil a year and tie up cap when maybe we have a rookie that can be sufficient.

How prepared are you for another hilariously miserable season?
PappyMay replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just hope we know what we have in Corral by the end of the year. Would be awesome to know he's solid and if had a high pick could get a kings ransom for the QB war that will happen next draft. then get little Sewell to be MLB of the future. (my dream scenario i've built in my head already) -
Official 2022 Carolina Panthers Schedule Thread
PappyMay replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I live in Alabama and the in-laws in in Winston. Plan on doing Christmas in NC and go to the Lions game. I'm just hoping we still have something to play for at that point or are at least we are seeing what Corrall has by that time. -
Icky/Corrall. Who knows what these future players could be. Little Sewell, another WR1 to replace Robby next year, a true 4-3 DE. Now we also dont have to pay him $40mil a year for a QB and tie up all your salary while having Brian Burns contract coming up too. I'm glad it worked out the way it did.

What if Rhule turns out to be a really good just being a coach?
PappyMay replied to Fan01's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope he's better because I want to see the Panthers succeed. I think he needs to win 9 games to be safe though. I Dont think thats out the window either! -
I'd love Zach Tom and Justyn Ross. I'd also like Isaiah Likely but with Tremble last year and resigning Ian Thomas I doubt it happens.

Evan Neal medically red flag by some teams
PappyMay replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam Robinson, Jedrick Willis, Jonah Williams, Landon Dickerson, and many more. Yeah i'd hate to get a guy who has seen SEC caliber Defensive Ends everyday. I like Cross more myself, but to say not to take a guy because he went to Bama is wild. -
Evan Neal medically red flag by some teams
PappyMay replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every single lineman coming out of Bama wears knee braces. Bozeman wore them at Bama too, can't believe we just signed him!!! Neal is probably my 3rd choice of the tackles but if he's the pick I wont be upset. -
Nightmare: we trade up to take Willis. High ceiling down the road, but he wont save Rhule's job this year. Dream: Seattle trades us 9 and 41 to grab their QB at 6. We get Cross at #9 and then one of the top interior OL prospects fall to 41. Green/Johnson/ Linderbaum(falling fast) grab whichever is left.

Panthers may now be hesitant to trade back...
PappyMay replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
i can see that. Why may just take Icky or Neal and try to provide Sam with the best possible protection and hope for the best. -

I'm so OK with trading down. Probably would catch alot of flack, but could you imagine trading down to the mid to late 20's and picking up a 1st for a QB next year and maybe a 2nd or 3rd this year. Grab Green or Johnson to play guard and roll with BC at LT? Trading down for Penning is what I want to happen, but just thinking worst case here. Lets wait on a QB.
