What I think is happening with the team's "QB debate" (theory)
WUnderhill replied to XClown1986's topic in Carolina Panthers
According to my sources within the organization, the reason he goes by CJ is that growing up as a farm hand it was his responsibility to make sure there were always enough barn cats to keep the rodent population down. Well, there was an issue in summer of ‘09. The cats stopped breeding. Nobody could explain it. CJ (then known as little Jimmy), being the outstanding young man that he was, devised a genius plan. Each morning he would take the male cats into a room and go to work. They said when the door to that room opened it was like a stampede as the male cats couldn’t get to the female cats fast enough. Thus the legend of the Cat Jacker (CJ for short) was born. I’m told that story of selfless heroism is a big reason why he’s being considered for the #1 sales job with the Catalina Panters. -
Panthers to Send 11 Representatives to Ohio St Pro Day
WUnderhill replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Anybody considered that maybe Panthers told him not to run a 40? I doubt they really care what the time is, and if they’re thinking of selecting him then they would probably see it as an unnecessary risk for somebody they want at 100% for rookie mini camp. -
Panthers are taking Stroud, and Houston knows it
WUnderhill replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah well the Texans are also an absolutely retarded organization. There’s not over-valuing pro days, then there’s sending 3 mid level representatives to a pro day that features a QB you might want to consider at #2 overall, a WR you might want to consider at #12 overall, as well as multiple offensive linemen and an edge rusher with 1st-2nd round grades who you might want to consider at #33 overall. Just a trash can of an organization. I’m glad our guys are taking every opportunity they’re given seriously with so much at stake.- 81 replies

Reich/Fitterer noon press conference
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Come to whatever conclusions you want, I’m just pointing out that it’s silly to act like there wasn’t a logical fit to the traits he described. -
Reich/Fitterer noon press conference
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you feel it is that ambiguous between Young and Stroud then I don’t think you have really looked at their strengths as prospects and to what degree they were asked to do certain things within their respective offenses. I’m not making a statement about which way they’re leaning, and sure Stroud is accurate and does a lot of things well. However, there is little doubt that today Scott Fitterer best described Bryce Young’s strengths. The processing, accuracy, getting in and out of plays, managing the game at the line of scrimmage, doing all the little things right during the week. It reads like a bullet point list of all the Bryce Young talking points. The only one he was missing was the “creativity” and some sort of Mahomes comparison. -
Reich/Fitterer noon press conference
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah sure that’s what’s happening here. ”It comes down to leadership. Guys that can process quickly. Accuracy. Someone who can run the team, get you in and out of plays. It’s not just about making throws; it’s about managing the game at the line of scrimmage. It’s about doing all the little things right during the week. Game tape’s what’s most important. Hopefully, it’s 2 or 3 years of production…That’s really who the guy is.” Ok, gun to your head which of the 4 QBs does that best describe? God forbid people point out he just described Bryce Young lol. Let’s all just go hide under a rock until draft lest we offend your sensibilities. Huddle logic indeed. -

I’m not saying we’re picking Young, I’m saying he described Young when describing what they’re looking for in a QB. You need to go back and re-watch, nobody’s even talking about the Russel Wilson question. Did you watch the whole press conference? You seem to have missed the part we’re talking about. -

You’ve lost it. They may draft Stroud over Young, who knows, but the QB he described today was Bryce Young more than any other QB in this draft and to argue otherwise is pretty ridiculous. -
Reich/Fitterer noon press conference
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He described what they’re looking for in a rookie QB and it was pretty much Bryce Young to a T. Said Frank Reich doesn’t mention a single measurable when he talks to him about what he wants in a QB. Said ideally 2-3 years of tape and that’s who the guy is, putting little stock in combine and pro day work outs. Said somebody who is a “fast processor” makes the right reads pre and post snap, etc. etc. -

As a fan of a team that has gone into various seasons with the following starters: Nate Chandler, Sione Fua, Cam Erving, Haruki Nakamura, Brenton Bersin, Byron Bell, Robbie Anderson, Ian Thomas, Edmund Kugbila, Matt Paradis, Matt Kalil, Dwayne Jarrett, Keary Colbert, Kealoha Pihlares, good lord the list goes on… You’ve gotta be happy with what these guys have done. We may not have a Cam Newton, Luke Kuechly, Steve Smith, Julius Peppers type (yet), but dammit if I don’t feel better about this roster top to bottom than I have in a long time. There are some weaknesses, but certainly nothing as glaring as going into a season with Byron Bell and Nate Chandler starting on your offensive line. -

According to the draft simulators I’ve been running, Houston will give us pick 2, 12, 33, and a 2024 1st to move up to 1. The Panthers will then trade them back pick 2 and a 5th rd pick to move back to 1, then trade back down to 3 with the Cardinals to pick up more second and third round picks and recoup the 5th rd pick.

Marc Ryan - "Carolina Zeroed in on Stroud and Richardson"
WUnderhill replied to CPcavedweller's topic in Carolina Panthers
I spoke to an NFL source recently who told me Carolina is far more zeroed in on Tanner McKee than CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson. So what if he’s a ball boy for the Browns. A source is a source! -
MJ in talks to sell majority stake of Hornets
WUnderhill replied to carpanfan96's topic in Charlotte Hornets
They may not have won any championships, but I’ll take their team over literally anything we’ve had the past 20 years. -
Oh boy, I remember some folks around here hyping up Joe Adams. And just laughable how long Brenton Bersin was on our active roster. Also missing Legedoodoo Nanee I think 2011 or 2012.

You literally said “Flame on.” What did you expect? Also, nobody was really even flaming but you got bent out of shape real quick I don’t even know why. The first person to call somebody a moron was, in fact, you. You started this thread defensive and just gone down hill from there.

Big Board & Pick 39: Offensive Skill Player Rankings
WUnderhill replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Either Downs or Hyatt should be there at our 2nd rd pick, and I think you have to take one if so. The drop off in WR is just too great between those guys and whatever would be available by the time our 3rd rd pick comes around. That frees us up to draft bpa at LB, DL, OL, CB, and RB depth the rest of the draft.
