  1. Byrd was always a talented guy who was just small. That's a tough combination in this league, even Smitty had some massive injuries from the hits he took. I hope he heals up well and the year will help him decide which way to go, back to the field or on to the rest of what should be a good life out there.
  2. Gross over-reaction but... Wow, they looked bad enough out there to make Rhule chuckle to himself. We've got to do better than that on Friday. I know it's just the pre-season but if you can't get your guys who are fighting for their jobs and dreams to at least score 3 points... at home... Whew.
  3. How about some points??? Less feasting by pass rushers??? How about some good runs? Multiple first downs that don't require the other team scoring first? C'mon team, just give me something that doesn't make me wonder if we haven't gone backwards even further..
  4. Nice article. Still wishing we had somehow kept Bradberry back in the day, or caught him when he got free again. Imagine him and Horn out there together. I hope Chinn can work at nickel. He's a really big nickel, but maybe they can make it work. He's a smart kid and a good student of the game ... that can make up for a lot.
  5. Life can be pretty messy. Especially when money gets involved. We have no way of knowing what happened yet and we'll never really be able to know what the original intentions of all the parties were. It just sucks that things like this do happen and that it may have happened here. In the end, the lawyers will probably win the day in court and both parties will go home with less money and less family than they started with.
  6. When will Corbett be back? There's the million dollar question.
  7. Just seemed like forever I guess. They probably could have had many more plays in the game, but they just couldn't run block or pass block. Just hoping that was an abberation.
  8. He shouldn't have had to get up at all. Their second stringers just wiffed right by our starting tackles and guards all day long. We're trying to see something positive out of that and it was "well, the little guy can take a hit." The team needs something better to hang their hats on. Kudos to Bryce there, but he got blindsided badly. Icky let a guy have a free shot at taking out our QB. This isn't the least bit of criticism of the QB.
  9. Any preseason game should offer the opportunity for you to look at your team and see where you need to install some fixes. Honestly, the Monday morning workload after that game is going to be massive. There's an awful lot to work on. And, honestly again, if we are trying to cheer Bryce's first pass and the fact that he took a monster hit from behind and survived it, well we're kind of polishing a turd. That was just an embarassing game, even for a preseason one. Pride alone should have seen us not get shutout like that in our home stadium. Woof. Hope it gets better from here.
  10. Our long national (conference) nightmare is finally over!
  11. I think the kid could be the it guy... he has seemed soooo close at times. Maybe with new (better) coaching he can reach that level of play.
  12. Newest one, it's about that guy who escaped from jail recently. There was one funny moment in the story... the three overweight cops attempting to "chase" him into the woods was priceless.
  13. It's a tough place to make a living, the NFL. It's a tough place to stay. He's gotten more than one chance already, maybe this time he finds what he needs to make it work out. Ain't no shame if it doesn't, on him or on us. Good luck to him or whoever steps up to earn that spot.
  14. How about we also do one without money? I'd be interested in that.
  15. And I'm really looking forward to this. Maybe if the glare is somewhere else, Bryce can grow more organically in the program. He looks like the kind of guy that could be competent and capable right off the blocks, but maybe not flashy. I don't have to have a guy getting all the national attention in weeks 1-3. What I want to see is the pundits all saying how amazing it is that in Week eight, the Panthers are sitting at 5-2 heading into the game with Reich's old team the Colts.
  16. Here's how I hope it looks with him wrecking the O-lines from the NT position:
  17. And here's the new one that just hit.
  18. I'm betting we have that guy on team at the moment, he just hasn't had that moment to shine yet. The change from 4-3 to 3-4, along with a coaching change in general, means we have no real way to predict who will emerge here. No one expected Frankie Luvu to take off like he did, but all it took was time on the field and well, just wow. Personally, I want to see Barno just show out and win the starting spot across from Burns.
  19. Smitty was way too short to be a decent WR.
  20. With the new coaching, we're going to see some guys start to shine that have been underperforming so far. Can't wait to see who it happens with, hoping it's a ton of them!

    Hey gang!

You have been missed. Hope everything is going great for you.
  22. He's still a young guy and he's been in anything but a good situation since he was drafted. He's got a much better opportunity on his hands now, I'm hoping he can make the most of it and reach his potential.
