If season ended today which QB would you take.
mav1234 replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know, wouldn't Young be something like the smallest staring quarterback in decades, and by a large margin? Lots of talk about about his height being wrong too. He's an exceptional player though. I'm not going to pass judgment on him yet but I am concerned about his size. -
I thought PJ was injured l? If he is, play Darnold.

my post isn't meant to be an endorsement, just my feeling on potential team direction...
-
It'll be good to have lots of options but I'm not sure we take a QB at 3... We will see. We absolutely need to add a QB early in the draft but Fitt has made it clear he isn't afraid of going after someone outside the first instead.

Steve Wilks Likely to Be 'Seriously Considered' for Panthers Full-Time HC
mav1234 replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
Has an interim coach ever been brought back by the new coach as a coordinator or positional coach? Seems like that'd be rare. -
Start Darnold - don't want to risk Mayfield somehow hitting 70% of our snaps, and Darnold isn't likely to win a game either lol
-
thar be dargons in the middle of the field. aka, he wants to bail out of every play to his left or right. a rattled QB never climbs the pocket unfortunately.
-
oh fear not you'll get to have that joy before the end of this season
-
the Ravens are a much better D than some PJ faced, but you're right. I think PJ is fearless, for better or worse lol. I don't know wtf happened to Baker but he was never nearly this bad in CLE... I don't know what our offensive game plan ever is other than "run ball, run ball, hope for bestttt"
-
Yea, Baker is having to drop way down to get these balls, dunno wtf is going on there. I don't like PJ (*as a player) but the OL looked way better with him back there.
-
why bother? let Baker finish this out (if there is even anythin to finish out lol) and go from there
-
The OL looks waaaay worse with Mayfield back there.
-
okay, well, you're the poster that said he caused the fumble. The rest of us just recognize he sucks.
-
aren't you the one that said it was his fault LOL
-
lol posters bitching about Burns
-
so wait was that reviewed? or wtf was that
-
a 3 point deficit seems insurmountable with this offense, lol

Steve Wilks Likely to Be 'Seriously Considered' for Panthers Full-Time HC
mav1234 replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because Wilks is the perfect fit for the young offensive minded HC we've heard our owner wants ... I am sure he will get a real chance to interview. But I seriously doubt he gets the job unless things turn around. He still has a losing record as a HC for us. -
Justin Fields 61 yard rushing touchdown
mav1234 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have no doubt Fields would have sucked with Rhule coaching him. But he's better than anything we have now and likely better than the QBs we will be in position to draft given Wilks being an actual NFL coach. I really liked him but when he slid I assumed it was because he had flaws I didn't see. I am, after all, a terrible talent evaluator lol. I'm glad he's finding success and I hope that bears team can build around him. -
Burns doesn't need to be among the all time greats to be a great DE. He is developing towards one, and has been one this season. He's no Peppers. But Peppers started 60 games his first four seasons and recorded 40.5 sacks. So far, Burns has started 45 and recorded 32.5; as a rookie the last half of the season saw him in on fewer than 50% of snaps. He isn't Peppers, he never will be, but fans are surprisingly hard on him for how strong a pass rusher he has been and how he has upped his game overall this year. Unrelated... The interesting thing about the trade rumors is that initially we were told the Panthers wanted something along with the two first rounders this coming draft to do the deal. Then a 2nd got thrown in. That we didn't take that makes me think this is a Tepper thing. Maybe I'm wrong.
