That is a fast way to lose credibility.

Didn't Wilson have shoulder surgery? maybe nothing or maybe something.

QB is more fun but also the most important position in a team game. I just think the consensus is never 100% and this year it should be lot off. Usually there is 1 or 2 WTF picks in the top 10. What if there are double that this year? If your going to waste a pick, QB probably offers the best reward so that would push up the other 3 more this year. I also think that 2020 offered an uneven and hard to analyze year. I honestly don't have a clue how this will shake down, complete chaos to teams playing it safe to business as usual. Either way, 4 QBs better then what we have and 2 LTs that are legit...all we need is 2 teams to take a LB, CB or Wr and we get a great shot to improve at 2 areas we are desperate for talent.
-
I would expect this year to show a wider gap with all of the disconectivity and lack of combine. I'm praying for chaos honestly.
-
Because that's based of little league football. They use a tiny ball still right? Look I get it can be overblown but it does matter to someone degree.
-
That fact you haven't seen more than 2 games with our level of desperation at QB tells me all we need to know.
-
Grier and Little, not baskets to put hope into.
-
Yes any QB we pick up could fail, honestly it is likely to happen but we still have to do it. Grier isn't an answer to any question other than how do you get thr #1 pick in 2022 and how do you put a staff on the hot seat.
-
Too damn expensive and a has injury concerns. Do that due diligence tho, very good.
-
No trade up past 5, LT after QB or burn it all down because we will be terrible with little hope for another 12 months.
-
That's with the entire game plan being Cam throwing and power running as our lead rusher. I still think that says more positive things about Cam then Shula but I am biased with absolute disgust for the product Shula devised. The fact the man went through 2015 and then changed the O to be so much worse in 2016 still pisses me off.

I get you I just burned through any optimism with any of the old crew long ago. JR did fire Hurney once, Ron was the initial target. I just assumed JR would have replaced Ron with another Fox/Ron clone. Heavy on D and keep kissing the ring.

He was also vocal about GMs with analitics skills but he backed down for the hire. Also we don't know how much and to what extent he exerted himself with Watson. Basically, what he said boils down to 'let's do it, I am in on that move' and not 'go do this move'. If he steps over that line then we have an idiot owner on our hands. The fact he is close to that line is concerning. Meddling is hard to confirm right now because of the power structure with the GM and HC thrown in to a way too small list of facts. Also, meddling and creating pressure to address issues that any owner of any business are two different things, that's just being involved and getting permission to spend large lumps of his cash. After last year we all knew we needed a QB and by him coming out and supporting a move that allows the staff to proceed on moving away from the millions tied up in Teddy. That's involved, I would say meddling is exerting himself in micro-decisions where he isn't qualified to have much input and has hired experts to do those duties.

Shula: Hold my beer.

Maybe, it's a possibility but it's just as likely if not more so that they would have imploded without Cam. Like a sting of anti-2015s lol. Good D and no hope on the O. DG's time we had JR so we know nothing would have changed really. Dude allowed Clausen to happen and still didn't fire Hurney. Hell, I bet it would all look a lot lioke 2020 at best honestly. I would also love to be in such a great place where we could take on that kind of talent because we didn't have such massive needs at places that have higher positional value.
-
That braintrust never built jack on the O, they just road Cam into the ground (Including DG's years where we were competitive but his hands were tied by Ron and staff hiding behind JR). Without Cam, the only positive I can say is that they all would have been fired sooner. Plus, look at the QBs from 2011 to 2017....grim stuff.

Mixed bag and still early. He is going full speed on the business side. New facilities and setting himself up to make money while the team gets all kinds of improvements. Good stuff there. On the football side it looks like he is trying and failing currently. We keep losing and it's looking like at least another year is in store for all of us. He kept Ron too long and he might have contaminated Rhule by keeping Hurney, letting him fug up the hiring process and then hiring a weaker GM candidate because he didn't clean house when the trial run of R&H failed like it always did. Rhule is a great HC but he should have a competent GM over him and as far as I am concerned that candidate went to Cleveland and turned around that poo-stain of a franchise. We will see where this goes but I still have concerns. If Rhule and Fritters can right the ship then we are good, if not we may have to clean house and start fresh or bring in a GM with more power to lure a higher quality GM. We will know soon, fingers crossed. So far his meddling was done with Ron and is hopefully over. He has shown zero useful football IQ other than we need a good QB and he wants to win. If this is a worst case scenario, it could take him some time to figure out how to hire and manage good football people. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I could honestly wait till after the draft and back fill the roster in places we couldn't in the draft. Oline, CB, S, RB, TE and even any QB laying around to clear out Teddy if we can't trade him.
-
Completely different situations. That was the Achilles injury that taught me that lesson. I was one of the goobers that thought he could come back.
-
It's a good QB and LT draft. CB needs to be upgraded but is a distant 3rd on our needs list. I'm fine with DBs in 2022. Fix the offense and worry about better CB play next year with a stud like this. He looks great tho.
-
Remember we had Gross at LT and Cam at QB.
-
And no SBs, wasted by coaches who couldn't win consistently and still retired early after a year where they made a freak look completely wasted. He was amazing but LBers now are not LBers in the 70s. I would rather spend drat capital on the Dline and DBs. It's a great luxury pick, something we don't have. We already have a lot of money tied up at LBer and have giant and more important needs elsewhere if we want to be competitive.
-
If he can't play QB or LT we shouldn't be considering him in this draft in the 1st. BPA is massively overtouted as the only and best draft strategy, positional value and team needs have to be in the conversation.
