  1. I've been in full tank mode since week 3... but fug it. Let's win the goddamn division.
  2. Justin Fields can't throw. If we should have drafted anyone over Horn it's Micah Parsons.
  3. It doesn't matter, though. Because any good offensive staff is almost certainly going to get hired away to be head coaches in relatively short order if they produce results here. That's the real benefit to having a good offensive-minded HC. You always have that mind in the building regardless of who else is on-staff. Andy Reid is the perfect example. If you can get the right HC/QB combo then you're set for the long haul. If you only get one side of it, then you get what we saw with Ron Rivera and Cam Newton. Maybe some short-term success, but in the long run it likely falls apart. I'm not entirely convinced we won't see a repeat of this in Buffalo in the next few years.
  4. This is true and exactly why we don't want Steve Wilks being our head coach after this year. See also: Staley, Brandon.
  5. The biggest mistake was not trading up to take Justin Herbert in the 2020 draft. That may have been as much as Hurney decision as a Rhule one, but clearly the signing of Teddy Bridgewater played a role. If we don't sign Teddy then maybe we're more open to moving up for Herbert come draft day.
  6. This is the Josh Allen comp, forget Levis. Richardson has as high a boom/bust factor as you're likely to see.
  7. God, I hope not. Nothing against Wilks but we need an offensive-minded HC who can develop our new QB.
  8. I feel like Richardson stands to benefit a lot more by returning to school. He could be the #1 pick in '24 with a good year.
  9. From PFF: If nothing else comes from this abortion of a season (other than firing Matt Rhule, of course) at least we appear to have FINALLY found ourselves a stud left tackle for the future.
  10. I think a lot of people were so traumatized by Matt Rhule that they actually bought Steve Wilks as the long-term answer even though he clearly never was.
  11. Or does he just have the best QB in college football throwing to him? Drake Maye is everything the UNC homers were convinced Sam Howell was as an NFL prospect.
  12. Kyler Murray is 5'10". Russell Wilson is 5'11". Drew Brees was listed at 6'0" but I'll bet you anything was a little below that. I'm not saying it's not an advantage for a QB to be taller, but it's also not something that is going to make them good on its own. If Bryce Young measures at 5'10" or 5'11" at the combine is that one inch REALLY the difference between him being a potential Drew Brees vs. a potential Baker Mayfield? And if he measures at 6'0" does that mean he's now safe to take in the top-5? All I'm saying is: look at everything he does well before writing him off because of an inch or two.
  13. Again, does him being 2 inches taller and 10 pounds heavier really make THAT much difference? That's the ultimate in nitpicking.
  14. Lord. Please quit with the Max Duggan hype. He's a JAG if I've ever seen one, and I don't mean he's headed for Jacksonville. 2nd round QBs rarely pan (do some research; it's probably the worst round to draft a QB in that you have any hope of actually starting one day) and I'm not even sure Duggan ends up going that high anyway. The hype surrounding Duggan reminds me of all those people who wanted us to take Carson "UDFA" Strong in the 1st round last draft. I do like Quinten Johnston, though.
  15. My take on the Bryce Young size debate... If you think his size will affect his ability to play QB at a high level then you pass on him. If your concern is that he's too small to stay healthy in the NFL... well, you just can't draft scared and I think his skills easily negate any concerns over his size. Thing is... he's going to add weight/bulk once he starts training for the draft. He can get up to 210 at least, possibly up to 215. Now, he can't grow taller of course, but if he were 6'1 and 210 you'd have FAR fewer people worried about his size. He can add the weight. My question is this: is 3 inches of height really the difference in this guy being a sucessful NFL QB or not? Who actually believes that? Don't overthink it. Don't nitpick. Don't look past what's standing right in front of you. Bryce Young is the best QB in this draft. If we're in a position to do so, we NEED to take him.
  16. I've been very pleasantly surprised how well he's played in pass protection. We saw him lay guys out in the run game coming out of college, but I didn't think his pass pro would be this good this early.
  17. People around here are so desperate they really think Wilks/Walker is the long-term answer. It's better than Rhule, but let's not kid ourselves here.
  18. Wilks has done a great job so far under the circumstances, but at the end of the day I'd still like to move on. The young QB/offensive-minded HC combo is our best bet to be contenders in the long-term. Give me Bryce Young and Shane Steichen.
  19. That Kentucky/Tennessee game has pretty much solidified it for me: 1. Bryce Young 2. BIG GAP... 3. C.J. Stroud 4. Everyone else
