  1. black writing is so vogue but this is the quote that interests me, care to elaborate on those reasons I'm honestly curious "We didn’t go after Fields for numerous reasons"
  2. this. I would have picked Fields but it's good that Tepper is letting the football guys run the show. We don't want Jerry 2.0
  3. I'm going to lol so hard if they trade away a ton of draft capital for a CB that's probably not that much better than one they could have gotten in the late first
  4. Rogers isn't coming here and even if he wanted to I'd be terrified he'd drop it all at any moment to do Jeopardy which apparently he seriously views as his next career move
  5. Denver is probably not going to, Ben Allbright who is very well connected has said as much and they just traded for Teddy NE is definitely a possibility. They're going to have to find a team willing to trade though. Atlanta will want a ton. Cinny seems content. Miami traded back up already. Detroit is an obvious possibility but they are probably going to have Waddle or Devonta Smith there at 7 and they have the worst WR corps in the NFL so it's going to again take a ransom for them to move. I really think Fields is going to fall to 8
  6. YES Let's rewind the clocks to the day we traded for Darnold. There was a lot of rumblings from NFL insiders (not the media who keep touting Mac Jones) that the 9ers traded up for Fields/Lance and the Falcons were going to take the other prospect. Since then more stuff has leaked that the Falcons might love Pitts, etc. If you're in the Panthers you're stuck with either Teddy. Or waiting to trade for Darnold until the Jets can hold you up for a King's Ransom bc they KNOW you have no other options.
  7. AGREED and I'm the biggest Fields proponent there is. This would set a bad precedent
  8. I actually completely agree with this. It makes sense. Or the 9ers really are that dumb and traded up for Mac Jones
  9. 100% I'll give you a reason. 8 is around the time where they've burned enough time into the program that they need their first break. Were surround by teams with major fanbases like the Broncos and Cowboys, no WAY they break for commercial after us. Before us, Detroit has a pretty good shot but they'll play the angle of new regimen to build the suspense
  10. except when we took Brian Burns, we all knew that was going to be a home fuging run. or at least the smart ones did
  11. There is a lot of smoke around the Panthers and Horn right now That makes me believe we are actually trying to get someone to trade up with us for someone who really wants him i.e. Dallas
  12. can't wait for the announcement we've drafted Fields
  13. Here's the way I look at the Darnold situation. A.) if you get your franchise QB for a second round pick, you do that 100/100 times no brainer. b.) the dolphins recently traded away a second rounder for Rosen, who is a complete bust, look how much draft capital they have. Fitts knows the value of trading back and down. I fully suspect we trade down at some point this year to recuperate assessts c.) while we won't get much for teddy I still think he has trade value. d.) if fields falls you still draft him at 8. You can NEVER have too many options at QB. New England had Tom in his prime and still took Jimmy G
  14. This is why I keep coming back to Slater is probably the pick at 8
  15. call me old and grump but I hate this
  16. I'm becoming more and more convinced he's going 3 overall based on absolutely nothing
  17. If all four top QBs are gone and someone like Chi, NE, or WFT wants Mac Jones I'd hold them up at minimum for a future first and this years second, CHI and WFT would have to give up more
  18. I agree with the Surtain logic. If we trade down to like 15ish and he's still there it's a no brainer. But he isn't a top ten pick. He's a mid first rounder in my book I do not want Mac Jones. Here's another hot take. I kinda think Zach Wilson is going to be a bust. One of these guys out of the top four is going to be and Wilson has the biggest bust potential in my book
  19. usually I agree with you Bronn but I see this draft going totally differently. 1- Lawrence. written in stone 2-Wilson. written in pen. 3-Fields. No one. I mean no one has a clue what the 9ers are doing. The media is all over the Jones thing, but NFL insiders think they moved up for Lance. I'm going on a limb here and say they're sending smoke signals and actually want Fields. 4-Lance. They love Lance and are ectastic SF passes on him. Perfect player to develop because they are TIED to Matty Ice for at least two more years. 5-Penei Sewell. They are tempted to take Chase but ultimately management wins. Best pick here. 6-Pitts. Dolphins wanted to move back up into the top 6 for someone. I'm betting it was either Pitts or Chase and they got wind one of the two would be avaiable. 7-Chase. Dream scenario for Detroit, #1 WR falls into their lap 8-Slater. Panthers like Slater, they want Slater. They're basically having Bill Voth put out the narrative that we need o line help (which isn't untrue). We trade down in the second to recoup draft capital and take Richie Grant though.
  20. someone bump the old igo thread, pretty sure that was after week 4 lol
  21. Totally agree with OP though, after ~ pick 8 there is a large talent drop off from elite prospects to very good prospects
  22. Love this topic OP 1- Lawrence. Best QB prospect since Luck 2- Fields. Would be #1 overall prospect any year but this one. Can make any throw on Field. Has elite athleticism he actually underutilizes. His accuracy is top notch and the whole first read thing reeks of racism and is untrue. 3-Wilson. Live arm, will need some work but has a very high ceiling. 4-Trey Lance. Tons of potential. Ran a pro-style offense and had a lot of control over it. Elite athleticism. Probably the highest boom/bust prospect but might have the most potential. 5-Penei Sewell. Elite athleticism for a man his size. Started LT as a freshman. 6-Rashawn Slater. Not as far behind Sewell as you might guess. Stonewalled Chase Young in the game against him. Strong as hell. 7-Kyle Pitts. Unicorn type prospect. Positional value drops him to 7 on my big board. 8-Jamar Chase. Not a need but is a true WR #1. Just for fun 9-Jaylen Waddle, 10-Patrick Surtain, 11-Christian Darrisaw, 12- Jaycee Horn, 13- Greg Newsome, 14- Devonta Smith, 15- Aljah Vera-Tucker, 16- Tevon Moehring
  23. I wouldn't be mad but he's below Slater in my book
