I'm probably half reading tonight ha, long weekend - but if you don't think Burden has 1 ceiling then I get it. But in today's NFL, I'm looking at the St Browns, JSNs, Pukas, Rashees, etc. and think we need to consider a different lens for how we build an offense. Especially with a draft that offers no real difference makers pass rushing or playmaking wise, which you want at the top.

So you don't think Coker can flank and you work XL and Burden around one another? I think they are rather complimentary. XL's ceiling is the X, and if not, I don't want to be jamming him into a slot role that's better suited for others IMO. And Canales does not run a fixed system. XL would be 60/40 outside/slot, a guy like Burden 40/60.

Let me follow up on this - 32 catchable targets, 32 of those were catches. 100% Only 1 drop, on an uncatchable ball. 70% rec rate on 46 total targets.

My initial Burden argument: The contested catch ability combined with YAC skills put him in a tier above the slot types. In addition, his acceleration and big play ability are something we just haven't had in forever. But it's not a one-trick pony situation either. In addition, he has no injury history, no drop problems, developed well rr-ing wise this year. He's flexible positionally, not slot exclusive. Can go X, flanker and slot. I think he grades out a mid-1st, but in this draft class, that's top-10 since there's no typical top-10 talent. I find him to be interesting because in shorter field scenarios, he can look like Doug Baldwin, but on deep plays he turns into a Brandin Cooks. A popular comp is Rashee Rice. A JSN with home run skills. At the WR spot, I don't view anything outside of Coker a long term check mark in our WR room right now, so if one is BPA, I don't think there's redundancy to worry about. I like who you like though. Will Johnson is a real possibility at 7 IMO.

Burden has the burst and skills that makes me feel really comfortable with him to compliment this offense. I like Graham, Johnson and Starks as well. But I don’t think I’d take a pass rusher this year in the top-15. I’m just really not fans if we’re talking specific prospects, not the idea of taking an EDGE high (which most years makes a ton of sense). Abdul, Mykel, and Jalon (do like) just aren’t guys I’m thrilled about top-10. They don’t have top-10 skills. And by that, I mean guys you expect to be top-12 at their position.

I know the talk has been Tmac or front-7 heavy, but now at our official pick, the prospects change a tad- Burden could be a dude that could fit really well and be BPA. 1-Burden WR 2-Donavan Ez EDGE That’s my early like

His catch percentage per catchable ball is off the charts. He’s the first guy in a while at that spot that feels like a dude. Still can’t believe he went undrafted. This isn’t a Colbert, Gettis, or whatnot, this kid could stick. Love his game.

I'm pleasantly surprised. He was on the verge of getting fully Carr'd and stepped up after taking back the starting job. He still has limitations that show at times, but he did a lot to be our guy for 2025. Not only did he look good down the stretch, it looked like he was having fun out there doing it. That wasn't the case for an iota of last season. Good on him. Reich's team already feels like it was 5 years ago.

Texans marched down and scored v. Titans. Tanner McKee looking like he could beat the Giants. Looks like we could be sticking around 5/6 even with a loss.

I just don't think this is like every draft. It smells like 2013. I just don't see the all-pro talent at the top. It's a really poor draft at the top. Maybe Mason Graham and Malaki Starks...but just looking relatively: -Mims/Fuaga would be OT1 this year easy, no questions, ahead of Banks and Campbell. -Hunter & McMillan are more on a Drake London level than a Chase, Nabers, or Marv. Would take Rome ahead of both. -The top pass rushers would be going in the 20s or beyond most other years. -Overall, I like the interior DL, depth of the RB and Pass Rusher classes, and the safeties. But this is a pretty iffy group compared to most years in R1.

CLE and NE are ahead...highest pick is 3 if we lose. Games with implications w/a loss: 3 win teams (we have lower SOS than both so leap frog if we lose, they win): Titans vs. Texans - Texans sound to be resting their starters. Although, unsure if they want to limp into the playoffs. And Titans could still lose to backups. But winnable game, they did beat HOU this year before the Texans defense made a turnaround. Giants vs. Eagles - Eagles are resting certain starters vs the Giants. Again, a situation where the Iggles backups could still take care of things. 4 win teams: Jaguars vs. Colts - I don't know what will happen here. But both teams are in disarray. Jets vs Dolphins - Tua is out but the Dolphins still have a chance at the playoffs with a DEN loss. Interesting one to watch for since we have the same SOS right now. Raiders vs. Chargers - Chargers have playoff seeding on the line, could clean up. Bears vs. Packers - Seeding is on the line, Packers are not resting starters. - TL,DR: There's so much going on, I'm just going to split it and say we stay around 6. There's no particular guy we're missing out on in this draft IMO. There's no "OMG we have to get him" talent. I don't think Graham, Johnson, or McMillan are that. We end up where we end up.
