  1. Cam hasn't been afforded an opportunity to show case his passing skills for some time now. You can't expect him to put up all pro numbers throwing to Damiere Byrd and N'keal Harry in NE in a covid year. He came into this dumpster fire with the leagues worst offensive line and coordinator in the NFL last year half way through the season. These are the seasons people are judging Cam's current ability on. Think about it. It isn't rocket science to see he hasn't been in a legit environment to succeed as a QB.
  2. For me, unfortunately it was Jimmy Pickles. I live in NW Indiana, about 35 minutes from Notre Dame and I remember sitting in my friends living room at the time asking him what the chances were Clausen fell to the Panthers (because we didn't have a 1st round pick) he said the chances were virtually nonexistent because he was pegged as a top 10 pick. Wouldn't ya know it he fell to us and the rest is history. Careful for what you wish for folks. I learned a very valuable lesson that day that I still carry with me to this day. I was also excited for Cam because I figured there was no way we'd take a QB #1 overall after just taking one with our highest pick the year prior. But Jimmy was really THAT bad and again, the rest is history.
  3. Death comes for us all and there is no telling when. R.I.P. Dwayne Haskins.
  4. Anymore? Don't think he ever cared to begin with
  5. Yea but you get the same thing bringing back Cam and taking BPA at #6. If Cam is truly done like most on this board believes he is, then we get a high draft pick without much commitment to Cam beyond this season. If Cam does well then we have our QB for the next 2-3 seasons and we are a playoff team. Taking one of these Qbs at 6 this year, sucking and taking another QB in the next draft with a new coach while being stuck with the one we took at 6 would be such an awful situation. We likely would pass on a QB next year if that's the case while being stuck with a new HC and still an unknown situation at QB. If we take a QB at 6 this year I feel like Tepper will give Rhule yet another mulligan while he continues to "build" this team. No way we are a playoff team with a rookie qb at pick #6.
  6. I've said hiring Rhule was a mistake since day 1. He's done nothing but reinforce that opinion 2 years in so I will continue to hate the hire until he's fired or proves me wrong. And this in no way excuses Hot dog boy David Tepper. He's just as much at fault for this mess probably moreso than anyone else. They all deserve to be fired but alas, here we are gloating over a bunch of JAG signings this offseason. It will be the same song and dance until it all finally blows up and puts Panthers fans out of their football misery once and for all
  7. If Mac Jones played for this team last year he would undoubtedly be referred too as Pickles 2.0. Only reason he did so well is because of the situation he found himself in
  8. If the last 4 years under Tepper is any indication then yes, they are really that dumb and I fully expect it to happen
  9. Tepper deserves to have a losing season every year he continues to be owner of this poo show. So by all means I hope Pickett is the pick at #6 that would all but ensure setting this franchise back for years to come
  10. They may go ahead and move him to the slot for like 75% of the time at least it seems that way. We signed foreman still have hubbard and have not added any significant additions to our WR room. He is definitely an asset and still our best offensive player when healthy I'd like to see him stay with the team.
  11. It's okay give it about 3-5 weeks into the season and everyone who poo'd your post will be flooding these forums with their tears just like they did a few months ago. I just sit back and laugh it's a great time
  12. Yes but most teams carry some $$ into the season in case they need to make trades/emergency signings if a player goes down with an injury. Should still have some money left to sign a couple more role players though
  13. Agreed. Mac is a pretty good Qb when it comes to making routine completions and managing the game. I wouldn't call that franchise qb quality but it's good enough to win some regular season games
  14. Pickett would be a worse option than Fitzpatrick imo which would give us an even better shot at #1 overall pick in the next draft. Loving these suggestions,, hell I'd say bring them both aboard!
  15. I'm down to sign Fitzpatrick. That would all but ensure Rhule is gone next year and would give us a really good shot at #1 overall pick in the next draft as well. Great idea guys
  16. You don't pay big money to an O lineman when there is less than a 50/50 chance he plays more than 10 games for us. Doesn't matter how good he is if he's never on the field. See: CMC
  17. Actually can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. Are you guys serious? This signing would be an absolute DISASTER. Paying big money to a guy who has never played a full 16 games in his 9 year NFL career (and only 8 games last year), while playing one of the most physical positions in football would be an absolute disaster. I have no idea how any of you could think this would be a good move lol. Look at his GP history https://www.nfl.com/players/terron-armstead/stats/ It's pretty bad.
  18. Paying big money to a guy who has never played a full 16 games or even 15 games in his 9 year NFL career (and only 8 games last year), while playing one of the most physical positions in football would be an absolute disaster. I'm sure Rhule would do it though
  19. I'd like to see Cam get a legitimate shot with a full offseason of work with an offense/playbook before the season starts. He hasn't been able to do that since 2019. Playing Qb isn't like playing DE or any other position for that matter. It's hard to jump into a starting role when everyone is a full offseason + 1/2 a season ahead of you. It'd be different if Cam was on the roster to begin the season and then came in for those 5 games and played bad, but the guy legit got off the couch to try and win games to save a struggling team and Rhule's ass. But with that last point, that's the one reason I wouldn't want him to come back. I really don't want to see this team competitive next year because that means we are likely stuck with Rhule until the end of his contract
  20. Would you trust Rhule and a lower tier outcast of college coaches to build around you? Or better yet when has the Carolina Panthers ever shown it was willing to build around their Franchise Qb? Deshaun made the right choice imo as sad as that is.
  21. I'm pretty sure Rhule won't need to throw games with the way he coaches he's perfectly capable of coaching us to that #1 overall pick without changing much of anything
  22. Exactly. So what is the point in trying to win this season? A winning season probably buys Rhule another year. We should be playing for the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft
  23. Need to go as young as possible this year and play for the No.1 Overall pick in next year's draft. Sign the least amount of FA possible and play the young guys. Let Darnold play us into that No.1 overall slot then we fire Rhule and go into next year with a new HC, No.1 overall pick, and lots of cap space. No point in trying to win this season to save Rhule's job what would be the point in that?
