I loved Cam but I think people forget things over time. Cam was the undisputed best running QB in the league while he played. He was shifty and quick and BIG. But passing was another story. He was always in the bottom 1/3 of the league when it came to passing. He had trouble not throwing with touch. Cam was a great QB, the best QB this team has ever seen but every year we all hoped that he would get better at throwing the ball and he really didnt.

Yup that would be best case. I could really see AR falling. I saw a mock draft the other day that didnt have AR in the 1st round.. That said we have to have a vet option in place heading into the draft. cause if we dont and miss out on a QB in the draft then its going to be a LONG season

Thats fair. But its hard to see a situation where we dont give us multiple 1st and 2nd's which also hampers us.

Good breakdown. AR seems like such a gamble given he needs time. I really dont like the idea of sitting young QB's. So much value of drafting a rookie QB is their cap vs a starting player and if you intend to sit them you lose that value. Honestly Carr at this point seems like the best way to go. If we had next years QB class THIS year then I would feel better about trading up but its also rare that a QB of Carrs ability come available.

Man Im so torn at what I want for a QB.. Carr lets us compete right now while saving draft picks. At #9 we can get an impact player. Drafting a QB probably mean trading away future picks for an unknown and there is no 100% safe QB in this draft..

I can understand how he is thinking that if a POS like Watson can get the biggest and best contract in the NFL why can't I... I also get why you would want to do your own deal to save the fees but at the same time not everyone can handle negotiations

If we sign Carr I dont want us using a top pick in this draft on a QB. If we sign Carr then Carr is THE GUY. Get weapons make the team better. Signing Carr means no 1st round rookie QB for then next 2 or 3 years... even more if we are lucky.

It feel like we either trade the farm this year for a QB or we trade the farm next year for a QB. However I would assume that if we sign ANY bridge QB this year to draft a guy NEXT year we will have a worst draft position next year meaning it will cost more. To hell with it. Lets get #1 or #3 over all.

NFT's seems like a shell game of pretending something is important to try to sell for more than you paid for. It scares the crap out of me that people would put actual money on them..

This is why im very curious about what happens in Baltimore with Lamar. This is one of the smartest FO's in the NFL. So Im curious to see what they do. I think there is a blue print to draft mobile QB's run them into the dirt and rinse and repeat without having to pick up a 2nd contract. If they can get 2 1st rounders for Lamar then draft a player like Richardson....

I forgot about him too. With a year under his belt he could really shine next year. He was one of my fav picks from last draft.

Im excited to have Burns back at a more natural position for him. I think he will EAT this coming season.

I dont understand why people are so shocked by these numbers. It's 'next man up' when it comes to QB contracts. If you are a top 15 to 20 starter in this league that you will almost always get a MASSIVE contract. This not new but people react like this every offseason.

Carr and a trade down actually makes a lot of sense.

Its a tough call. Carr only costs cap.. If we trade up for a QB then we are trading years of resources.

I think the biggest cheerleader to sign Carr is probably Coral. If we draft a QB then Corals career is virtually done as he will never get an opportunity. Carr allows him to be the developmental QB.

Those are fair concerns.

Question about the minority draft picks for coaches/FO staff.. If Evero is hired to be a HC next year do we receive a comp pick for him?

I think your completely right. I dont see us going to #1 but 100% we are moving up.

Unpopular opinion.... 1. Most players on our roster that other teams would consider good are considered trash on this board. 2. There is a small handful of posters on this board that are miserable and ruin the general experience for most. 3. We have a team that is in a good position to plunk in a QB and try to content. We are close. LFG!!
