  1. Your original premise was that they should compete and let the winner be determined in practice. You remember that, right? Ever since then you've been an emotional basket case and all over the place. I have no idea what you're trying to argue at this point and I don't think you do either.
  2. No, he really wasn't. He's easily #3 on our list at the moment which isn't much but hey, it's something.
  3. Damn. People have really forgotten how good Jake was before that Tommy John surgery.
  4. Are you off your meds again? You're relatively normal for awhile but you always eventually fly off the rails again and when you do you seem to forget what your were actually arguing in the first place. Pure emotion.
  5. Yes. If Cam hadn't been ready, Pickles would've started. Back to back 400 yard games out of the gate said Cam was more than ready. If they'd gone by your standard, Pickles very well may have been the day one starter. Cam looked pretty rocky in preseason. Hell, he always did. Cam was a gamer much like Jake was. Way better on Sundays than in practice. You're embarrassing yourself here man, but that's nothing new for you.
  6. If you're on the roster you're competing. According to you, we need to be playing the best practice players. I'm telling you, that was Weinke by miles. My point here is that your concept is dumb and you should stop digging.
  7. He was on the roster and he looked like the best QB in camp by far. But he couldn't do it on game day. Kinda like Darnold. Give up on Darnold, man. The Panthers have.
  8. Did you ever go to a training camp when we had Jake and Chris Weinke? If depth charts were made solely on practice performance, Jake would've never played over Weinke.
  9. How he's treated? We picked up the fifth year option on the worst starting QB in the league after inexplicably trading for him. He's going to make $18M to hold a clipboard. Sign me up for some of that treatment!
  10. For the record, I absolutely think we've moved on from the possibility of starting Darnold and the "competition" will be a complete farce.
  11. There's no cap savings by cutting him. We're on the hook for all of it. So I say let him "compete". Maybe Baker Mayfield could use the humbling of being forced to compete for his job with the worst QB on the league. Who knows, maybe someone gets injured in camp around the league and we end up with a similar deal. We eat the majority of Darnold's cap hit and get a conditional pick in return. Cool
  12. "Excited" or "optimistic" would be overstating my expectations for this season substantially, but I'd put myself in the "intrigued" category. I can't say I'm expecting success but I can at least envision a potential path to success now. If we had an coach that I thought was NFL caliber I'd be legit excited.
  13. Agreed with everything until Even Sam might play better with this line. Nope. Don't fall into that trap.
  14. I think Gross-Matos will get a lot of those snaps and I think he'll be a substantial step up against the run, but not the pass rusher that Reddick was.
  15. I'm expecting a step back in pass rush but a step forward in run D. That's what losing Reddick does for you. Him and Burns at DE was a helluva pass rush tandem but you're giving up a lot having two relatively light in the pants speed rushers playing DE.
  16. Didn't even click. Read "Zach Wilson's ex claims..."
  17. You mad as hell. Joe Brady wasn't ready to be an NFL OC. He may not ever he for all I know. Not sure how I'm a "Brady lover". But you do you I guess.
  18. His stats were very similar to his last season with the Jets. This is just who he is. Joe Brady is gone but we were still very determined to move on from Darnold as our starter this season for a reason.
  19. Honestly, it was all Darnold could handle in all likelihood. They didn't just wantonly decide to hold Darnold out of preseason. Once they actually saw for themselves how limited of a QB he was they knew they had to hide him as long as possible. They couldn't allow any nonessential film of him playing in our offense to exist for opposing DCs to study.
  20. This. I don't want to further taint my memory of what Can was on his prime. Signing him last year was worth it for that first game. That was the most excitement I've had as a Panthers fan since 2015. But it's over. We gotta let it go.
  21. There's at least a reasonable path to potential success now when looking at the roster, especially in an overall weak NFC. The massive hurdle to overcome is still Matt Rhule. He either needs to prove this year that he's figured out this college to NFL transition or he needs to get sent packing. No more free passes.
  22. I think Joe Brady likely has a bright future in football but NFL OC was too much too soon for him.
  23. Demo is relatively easy with the right tools. Primarily pry bars of various sizes and shapes. Flat ones are key. Get stuff started with those them you can break out the bigger ones but it's tough to get stuff started with the bigger ones. Most people just try to go to work with a sledgehammer and a crowbar and yeah, that sucks.
