Another thing on Carter, I do believe there's something to be said about being a second generation player. Growing up around the game, watching your father play, and already coming in with an understanding of what it takes to be successful in the NFL is huge. These kids have massive leg up on the competition just based on that familiarity.

This mock gets better and better as you go down the list. Everyone's down on Carter because the production slipped last year when he was asked to be the guy. That won't be the case here, and it'll give him time to develop. I love the Henry To'oTo'o pick. I think he has the potential to be special with more coaching. The kid has all the tools to be great. He basically is a more refined/polished Brandon Smith. The two of them growing together would be great.

This makes even less sense now. I assumed he was on the last year of his contract so he would be expecting a big payday from NY. $11M per year for Waller is cheap. Great movie for them, but I don't know what LV is doing.

May not be popular opinion but wouldn't mind hanging on to PJ to run with Stroud/Young + Corral/Eason. Kid is scrappy and has had to fight his way into the league. That is a good mentor in my mind considering our staffs knowledge.

This 100%. Even the first minor injury, and everyone here is going to be up in arms if we go with young. Tweaked ankle, sprain finger, anything and it's going to be mayhem.

The more I see on this kid the more I like. His blocking looks great for a TE and can make tough/contested catches.

Next year is next year. Both of those guys could have career ending injuries, then what's the difference? Or maybe they just underperform, and aren't the sure thing they look like today. You can't avoid making decisions today because you're worried about what tomorrow may bring.
