I think this is the correct move. If a guy they really like was available I have a feeling we would have already signed him. I think they want to see if “the answer is already on the roster”. If not, there will be someone they pickup after cuts.

Not sure how he would like being traded from a SB contender to a team in build mode with a rookie QB. Additionally, I think they restructured his salary to bonus and there is a lot of dead money on the table so the Bills have more than 40 million reasons to try and extend an olive branch. Admittedly don't know much about him and how he would get along with the team dynamics. All I really know is that he is a very very good player and likely to be a very very expensive one.

I hope so. I think this group is probably better overall than the 2015 crowd. Olsen was a beast so I certainly don’t want to slight him but aside from him there wasn’t much there.

I took a quick look at the stats last night and my snap non analytical judgement was that by far DJ was the main target and then everyone else kinda got the leftovers distributed amongst them. Not sure if that was due to their ability or the mastermind heading up our offense last season. Your point is valid but I do feel optimistic about TMJ at the moment.

As of this post I don’t think any receivers are superstars but as a group I think they can be sneaky-effective. If TMJ can translate some potential into production I think they will surprise.

Good post. I think this staff values the protection piece and somehow Rhule managed to leave us with a strong core of linemen. I think Mays and Zavala are good mid/late round pickups that a team should always be looking for to keep the cupboard full.

It takes 283 minutes for me to get from my house to the Falcons stadium. I might just take a road trip.

I think you may be correct and this is a very interesting post. But not sure if it matters. As I said many threads ago, if BY gets a paper cut looking through the playbook someone’s gonna say it’s because he’s not big enough to be an NFL player. I have a feeling the narrative will follow him throughout his career.

I am exaggerating for clarity but BY strikes me as an “old soul” type of person with a modern day Ward Clever (some of you may have to consult the Google for that reference) vibe. Point is, maybe not day one, but I could see guys going to him about football and non football stuff cause he seems like such a level headed and thoughtful dude. If they vote him to be a captain it’s because they have taken to him quickly. Not going to freak out if it doesn’t happen but would not be surprised if it happens sooner than later.

Although no one can be certain because you never know the inner workings the fundamental difference in the organization is they hire people to work for you and you listen to what they have to say. I think previously Tepper let Rhule run free and trusted his guy was making the right decision. Now Tepper seems to be somewhat involved. Not necessarily vetoing anything but just being inquisitive. Probably at a high level but it sets the expectation. Much more importantly, Reich is hiring knowledgeable guys that he respects but he also has the background to question and challenge decisions and opinions. Conversely, it seems like Rhule had the “if you were right I would agree with you” approach. Who knew that rational thinking works in making football decisions.

Frank Gore would be my preference.

I remember @PantherUnited getting us thru this stretch. He was an artist that mastered the technique of compelling idiocy. I so looked forward to those threads. Although he wasn’t the poster that the Huddler’s wanted in the offseason, he was the poster that we needed.

Chubba got a bad rep for drops. I think last year he was much improved but his first year he was terrible in that area.

As an older guy with children on the cusp adulthood you realize that a lot of the fallen are basically kids. Young guys and girls in the prime of their lives making the ultimate sacrifice.
