A Potential Day 3 RB who Could Make a Huge Impact

Jeremy Hill - RB - LSU

 

In 2012, Jeremy Hill, a Freshman running back, got some snaps at RB after LSU's stable of backs were suffering injuries.  Since his first game, roughly a quarter of the year in, Hill's compiled:

 

2,156 Yards on 345 attempts

Career YPC: 6.2

Rushing Touchdowns: 28

 

In 2013, after being suspended for game one against TCU, Hill put up:

1,401 Yards on 203 attempts

Season YPC: 6.9

Rushing Touchdowns: 16

 

Hill has great vision and is a homerun hitter at any point and time.  He has been revered for his blocking as a back, and has a big thick frame with the speed to break away at the next level.  He displayed solid hands out of the backfield.

 

He's is projected in the 3rd to 5th round of the draft, due to one reason and one reason only

He ran into some legal trouble both prior to LSU and after his freshman campaign.  

Arrest 1) As an 18 year old, apparently made some 14 year old suck him off

Arrest 2) Was drunk at a bar in "Tigerland" where he sucker punched a dude harassing him (reason he missed the TCU game)

Obviously this is a homer pick to me, but after watching the dude the past two years, hes got potential to be a really good back the next couple years.  He rarely suffered injuries while at LSU and hes got a big thick frame.  On top of everything, hes got a lot of tread left on the tires since LSU uses such a large stable of backs

 

This would allow the Panthers to potentially move some guys around who have big contracts who don't play...

Arrest 2 is quite irrelevant. I think the 14 year old thing pretty much excludes him from consideration. Call it the Jerry Veto or the Jerry guideline but if dude is frowning on tattoos with a Franchise QBs I doubt he would really warm up to a guy that was getting oral favors from a little girl. I suspect the scouts may have scratched him off the short list for self preservation purposes.
