Hornets Looking to add Z-Bo

i thought about that earlier this season at the trade deadline when he was rumored to be on the block..

i came to the conclusion that Z-Bo, while very effective, is getting long in the tooth and would also clog the paint where both he and Al operate. And he darn well isn't worth the long term money that Fansided article throws out at him. And there's no way he is opting our of his current deal.

Personally I would pass.... Like him as a player but just dont think the fit is all that good. Hurts more on defense with 2 bigs that struggle with athletic 4's and would struggle in pick and roll defense. Would be another good scoring punch and great rebounder. Not to mention Z-bo brings intensity and a strong desire to win.

Wouldn't be my first pick but if it happened I could get on board.

It seems like pure speculation, but I'd definitely give Z-Bo a ring if he gets cut.

I actually brought up a Z-Bo-Big Al possible front court four or five months ago.

I like Z-Bo because like McBob he can still stretch the floor and actually prefers to hang out around the 16-18 foot range, but signing Z-Bo would also allow Kemba to finally be the point guard. I like McBob but I think his talents would be much better suited on the second unit (that is if he opts-in).

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
