Patrick Peterson looking to be highest paid corner now.

He reportedly told the local media that he is worth more than Sherman:

The Cardinals cornerback told reporters Monday that he's worth even more than what the Seahawks paid their All-Pro defender and hopes that Arizona realizes that, too, per ESPN.com.

"We'll see," Peterson said. "Got to ask the Cardinals. I mean, I think I am but at the end of the day both sides have to agree to terms and we'll see what those terms are and hopefully sooner than later."

Set to earn $2.88 million this season and $10 million in 2015, Peterson acknowledged that his camp is in early talks with the Cardinals over an extension of his rookie deal, adding: "I'm making OK money right now, but I'm just not making his money right now."

Guys I know these players need to get paid and all, and I'm usually a staunch proponent of them getting their fair share of the pie, because we all know that the greedy owners do, but I just don't like that statement. And, as a result, I don't like his attitude. I could go on and on about corporate greed and social ills, but I'm gonna just leave it at that. Peterson, with his "OK" money needs to stop talking about "his money right now" (pun intended).

Greed and envy have poisoned many NFL players, especially at the WR and DB positions.  It's always about who's contract is bigger then yours.  Peterson is good, but he's nowhere near as good as Sherman, he's just bailed out because he's faster.

Players see contracts as a way of determining pecking order.

Two years younger than Haden and Sherman. The cap will be going up real soon. If he has another great season, he'll get his wish. But it's not smart to make comments to the media. If Peterson has a poor season, everyone will say he's too concerned about the money instead of his game.

I never see Cam talk about his contract.

Lol. Guy is above average.

I think he's bordering on the "elite" level. Sherman is obviously a great CB - but he's also a part of the best secondary in the entire league. Peterson also benefits from being a spectacular return man and for the most part the NFC West doesn't really have an elite WR. I'd certainly put PP in the top 3-5 at his position and I'm probably leaning more towards T3.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
