What's really pathetic is that you're giving guys a pass because "THIS IS FUTBAWL, DAGUMIT."

You do know it's possible to play football with a little sense of decorum, right? If that wasn't the case, you'd have 30 teams running bounty programs. These are all guys making a nice living and the last thing they want to see is for that opportunity to be taken away from a fellow player.

I really don't see why this needs such vehement defense from you. It's not like Johnny just got kicked out of the league, but it probably cost him the starting job, because Hoyer is not one of those guys who is going to flip the bird walking away when things get bad.

This is football. This isn't cotillion class.

Yeah flipping off the opposing bench is the same as running a bounty program.

It's still a classless move regardless of how you justify it. Not a bounty program but the dude is not impervious to criticism from fans of the NFL.

He's terrible. He doesn't see wide open receivers. He prefers to run the ball himself for 3 yards as opposed to passing to a wide open WR for a minimum of 5 yards. He has no sense of playbook. He has no future. He is literally going to suffer a career ending injury.

Its a shame the Browns have such an easy ass schedule. If they happened to play the NFC west, he would literally get killed.

his play resembles old school Michael Vick with the falcons, except Vick was much better at finding receivers and had a much better arm. Not to mention Vick had/has blazing speed. Manziel is quick but he's not fast. Andrew Luck ran a faster 40 time than Manziel. Vick ran a 4.33 or something. Vick at 32 years old beat 25 year old McCoy last year in a race. RG3 is faster, quicker, and more athletic than Manziel can ever dream of being, and RG3's career is pretty much done.

Manziel will have some good games, some great games, but that style simply does not bring any significant success past winning a few national tv regular season games.

Preseason done.  He finished 6 of 17 tonight.  

 

I mean, I'm trying to stay open-minded because everyone and their mother talks about this fig...but he just doesn't really do anything for me.  I wouldn't want him as my QB.  Hell, I'd take Bruce Gradkowski over him.

after watching the game last night on NFLN, it's clear he's more entertainment for the sports media folks than a seriously QB. Amazing the excuses that were made for his bad playing, while the same talking heads endlessly slam Hoyer. Can we say The Golden Calf of Bristol part Deux???

      We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that

      There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
