you know what i meant. being an NFL GM is a hard job and yeah he failed at it. you won't get an argument about that from me.

he still saw more poo first hand and has more inside knowledge about the NFL in general and the panthers specifically than almost anyone you could dig up.

It will be worth a listen. I do think he has insight despite the negative comments. I question his ability to carry any legitimate topics other than the NFL but maybe I am in for a surprise.

I think that his former journalism experience and front office experience will actually make him a great host. Apparently he's a pretty well liked guy by just about everyone he's come in contact with

Hurney was a victim of the Peter principle i.e. he was promoted beyond his ability (so was Shula in my opinion, but that's a whole other thread). Still by all accounts Hurney is a super nice guy, so while I don't want him as a GM, I'm not going to bad mouth the guy.

he picked apart his entire history and every little thing about him as a person and player in college, selected him with the top overall pick, and watched his development over the course of two seasons.  one day of his life as an NFL GM is worth more than the dumb ass blather from all the other media personalities in the charlotte market combined.
