You're right....no one wants him especially this year.  They won't touch him with a 10 foot pole.....but if he has a decent season and with a year less on his contract next year it would be more likely.

Yeah that is how I feel also, we're stuck with him this year.  I still don't fault us for signing him, we had to retain a SG and we had not much else, so we overpaid a bit.  I always thought he'd pan out a bit better but the comparison to LaFell is pretty spot on lol.

To a degree....but we never resigned Lafell after his rookie contract, and to be honest Lafell while he didn't live up to our expectations made about what he was worth.  A better Panther comparison would probably be JSTEW  just with the contract being less extreme for Hendo.

Lance is only 23 and he has all star potential. He's played well the last several years. He's a tough street baller who is not afraid to be the bad guy. I for one love him. He catches all this criticism for blowing into precious little Bron Bron's ear hole. I personally hope he does that every single f'n time we play the Heat.

His prime is still in front of him.

Not saying I'd want to pay the max for Lance....but if we have tooo to get him....then we have too to get him.

Even with the max we could still sign Nelson/ and could probably find a way to make room for McRoberts.

Collectively our depth and rotations would be the best in the league.

1st team 2nd team 3rd team

Kemba Nelson Pargo

Stephenson Neal/CDR/Hairston/Hendo Hairston/CDR/Hendo

MKG Taylor/Hairston Tolliver

McRoberts Vonleh/Zeller DJ White

Jefferson Zeller/Biyombo Biyombo

Talk about coming at you in droves.

It's funny because I've heard analyst talk about how we've taken Indiana big men back to back.....but they forget about DJ White who we originally drafted....also was an Indiana PF/C

How are we going to have a 23 man roster?

No one wants Henderson though. The only way we trade him is if we take on the same money. I don't think anyone wants him enough just for his talents.

Maybe we can attach a future draft pick to get a team to take him. Somebody like Philly with cap room could take him and add another pick to their assets. Play him for a year and a half, use his expiring contract in another trade to gain another asset. Two assets gained to take him for 1.5 years

Yay.  Let's bring in a guy his current teammates can't wait to get rid of.  It's my opinion by the way, that Lance's game won't get any better from this point on.  It doesn't look all that dynamic, and teams were catching on later in the season.  Do not want.

I'd be OK with giving him 4 years at 44 million with year 4 being a player option. Bringing in Lance also means McBob is less of a need because lance can distribute pretty well for a SG.

2013-14 Per 36

FG%, Pts, Reb, Ast, Stl, Blk, Tov

A- 49%, 14.1, 7.3, 4.7, 0.7, 0.1, 2.7

B- 47%, 10.7, 7.8, 1.2, 1.0, 0.9, 1.4

A- Lance Stephenson, age 23, 4th yr

I'm not sure whether people are overvaluing Lance, or really sleeping on Michael.

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
