4 years is a long time. And 4 years is the calendar US Soccer fans live on. In 4 years Dempsey, Jermaine Jones, Beasley, and Howard will be old men. Besler, Gonzalez, and Fabian will be 29 or 30.

 

New names will rise, high hopes for others will crumble. Six 2010 players made the 2014 roster. That's it. Stuart Holden was supposed to be a big star, imagine him playing in front of Jones and Bradley, but life is cruel.

It is, but I get it. You have Euros every 4 years. Gold Cups, Olympics, Copa America, Confederations cup. Then you have these players that are worked to the bone from August to May and we want them to spend June and July serving their countries.

I still get numb when I think about the game. It hurts worse than the 49ers loss and it's not close for me. Between Wondo missing that sitter and not scoring on that beautifully designed play to tie the game in extra time. Absolutely gutted
