NFL.com: Cam Newton primed to regress

It's misleading clickbait to get the Camfans all riled up and give it hits (and surprise surprise, it worked! Good job everyone). The whole point of the article is that the offense will regress due to two inexperienced OTs and a new crop of WRs (plus Shula), and if you aren't a Panthers superfan, then you it's hard not to see why our offense would take a step back.

the dreaded senior year slump....even though there is no evidence of it in the previous 3 years.

This likely could be the weakest supporting cast Cam has seen.....going in our OL, WRs and traditional rush are all 3 perceived as the worst Cam has seen

That is reason to believe the O takes a step back.....and Cam will take the blame (fair or unfair)

I disagree we have upgraded or equal value to  just about every position beside the LT. Its not like we lost 7 pro bowlers  With the return of a healthy Stewart and addition of Turner our running game is far better than last years. Throw in the account the progression of Newton and this offense will be better than last years.

Returners: Olsen, Tolbert, Williams, &  # 2 defense.

Jordan Gross > Chandler

Amini =/ > Wharton

KB = Smith

Cotchery = Lafell

Underwood < Ginn

God I hope we make the playoffs this year. I rarely get pissed off about anything but the constant offseason poo about how bad we will suck is getting to me. Someone beer me!

I hope that everybody knows that it doesn't matter what Cam does, he will still get no praise. If he comes out beastin with this supposedly "worst" offense he has ever seen, the media will say it was our defense that won us those games. If we comes out sucking, it will be all Cam's fault. So basically, it is a lose-lose situation for Cam, unless we win the superbowl and then everybody crowns Cam the best QB ever like Wilson.

I think the thing to remember is that his miserable weapons are similar to the miserable weapons he had last year. Smith was a stud in his prime but that was 5 years ago.  Ginn was a forgotten man, HIxon was nothing and LaFell was an underacheiver.  As for the line, we didn't sign Wharton until the season started and Gross was last elected to the pro bowl in 2010 before last year.  Sure we will miss them but honestly not as much as people think.  Matsko has done a great job with our line  and will again.  Maybe Cam won't regress and in fact will show folks that he can make the wide receivers better than they would normally be like he did last year.
