PFF Grades from last nights game

Big A

Appreciate it Big A. Josh Norman preseason master showin out. How'd Brees look?

They held Brees out. I think they were worried about facing blitzes from GW, the old Saints DC, especially since both guards also sat out with little nicks. Was a pretty spirited game for a 1st preseason game, kinda like the Seahawks game with Broncos. That Broncos game almost felt like a regular season game, well at least the plays they got in between flags,

Williams graded 2.9 in run block, Graham ended with -1.3 so lucky he is a beast at catching balls, run blocking not so much. Interesting coincidence that one of Saints highest graded players was also a new TE named Josh Hill.

You do realize that these stats are pretty much useless when looking at the first (or really any) preseason game. Given the lack of full all out game planning and the lineups being used you can not actually think that these stats can be used to draw a conclusion. Even a Saints fan should be able to understand this.b

    • Bill Polian and Bill Lekas on Chalk Talks SiriusXM radio this morning.  Polian needs to retire (again). First he talks about Andy Dalton as our backup and then suggests trading down to get Sadiq. Clueless. At least he brought up the hole losing Ashawn Robinson caused.
    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
