If Hardy's conviction isn't overturned, he might not play for awhile

Any NFL player who commits an act of domestic violence in the future could be looking at an automatic four to six game suspension. According to the Washington Post, the NFL is considering implementing a new policy that would dole out tougher penalties for domestic violence offenders.

Under the potential new policy, a player would be suspended between four and six weeks for a first time offense. If a player commits a second offense, he would be suspended for an entire year.

Granted, his re-trial will probably start after the season is over, but I wonder if Gettle will see this as an opportunity to get a bargain deal or be done with him after this season.

They were completely different situations.  Hardy is in a he-said she-said debate over a few scratches and minor bruises with a police report siding him.

Rice punched out his fiance.  Then dragged her limp body out to the curb. on camera.  Then to make matters worse, she still married him.

That last part really infuriates people that are into Women's Rights.

UGHHHHH that woman. The court system is doing a lot of work for this nonsense, and she might be screwing up my football enjoyment this season. Great. Half joking. Half.

So hey, you're a dope for saying that. Just thought I would stop in and let you know you said something really dumb. You should try not to do that in the future because then people will think you're dumb.

I say the more you can hurt a player for smacking women around, do it. Maybe, just maybe, a player will think twice about that before going all Scarface on his significant other. I don't care if it hurts Greg Hardy. Because the two words already hurt Greg Hardy in the court of public opinion and the real court of law: FOUND GUILTY

If the only way you can reach these idiots is by taking game checks and playing time then by all means use that method. This is more cowardly than using PEDs and more intolerable than recreational drugs. It should be reflected in the league's reaction.

You got any women in your life you care about? Put her into this situation hypothetically and read your own post again.

Would it be retro active if he should lose? Better make sure he gets the best lawyers he can afford and win this case if he is indeed innocent. A 4 to 6 game suspension would definitely effect his leverage with a new contract.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
