avant - "we're getting open"

“When you look at the film, we’re getting open.” - Jason Avant http://t.co/GkiehPZF2l #Panthers

August 23, 2014

from bbr...

“When you look at the film, we’re getting open. But at the same time, you’ve got to develop that trust in the game,” Avant said. “In practice, we have it, but you’ve got to constantly see a person open, and constantly see a person doing the right thing, and then make the decision and say, ‘He’s always in the spot, so I can trust him to throw it there.’”

I just hope our 3rd down play calling last night wasn't indicative of what we'll see in the regular season.

Multiple 3rd and short, and long developing routes.

We have KB, Olsen, Williams, Dickson, Cotchery, and Avant. Call some quick routes.

i'm convinced last night the point was to force throws down field no matter what in order to develop some type of chemistry with the receivers. not once did newton throw the ball away or use a check down.

Doesn't throw with anticipation

I saw him throw a number of throws with anticipation to Lafell last year.

Because of Lafell's shitty route-running, a couple of those "anticipated" throws were intercepted because Lafell wasn't there where he was supposed to be and the defense was.

He also threw a number of throws with "anticipation" to Ginn that hit Ginn right in the hands and were dropped.

THAT is Cam's experience thus far in the NFL throwing with "anticipation".

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27
    • Your intelligence is artificial.
    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
