Quite ironic actually...the guy that left the franchise in a mess cap wise interviewing the guy trying to dig them out.Very cordial on both ends with general team discussion...like nothing ever happened.Wonder what D.G. was really thinking...something like "you little S.O.B i'd like to %_××_ your %%_%× ass".

Very interesting to say the least.

Disregard the VERY from the post title..

Hurney really misjudged the runningback market and made some stupid trades. Just some god awful items on that cap sheet. But he also took Cam Newton, and got most of the other building blocks on this team. So . . . I'll call it a push.

No one else form that draft class is on our team

True, but I would take Cam Newton over the haul we got over awesome drafts in 2007 or 2001. Hitting on a franchise quarterback is the most important thing you can do as GM. People miss on picks all the time after the first round anyway.

I think he was good at getting good pieces, but missed out on how to make them all fit. He couldn't fill in those mid round picks and bargain bin free agents the same way Gettleman seems to be able to do.

    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
    • I honestly question play calling a lot more towards the end of last season than Bryce’s play. I’m not sold on Canales as an offensive mind, I haven’t seen the advantage he gives on that side of the ball. Maybe that changes with the new coordinator so that will be something to look for. Either way I’m not falling for the same hook line sinker again this offseason. I hope we don’t settle for a qb just because of some weird attachment issues we seem to have as an organization to Bryce. I’d rather start the search for a qb again, now with a much more stable team and front office, then getting hooked for multiple years with a qb that under performs and is overpaid
