3. Carolina Panthers

Pro Football Focus rated the Panthers’ defense the second best in Week 1 with a 21.9 rating and gave their pass coverage top honors. Carolina’s cornerbacks yielded just 28 yards after the catch to the Buccaneers.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone is so high on the Eagles.

This.  They looked like the worst team in the league in the 1st half.  One of my best friends is a HUGE Eagles fan and he even says that he thinks they're a middle of the road team right now.  He got a good chuckle out of ESPN's power rankings himself.

CBS also has us 18th in power rankings- up 4 spots from last week but still behind the Jets.

Just goes to show that it's too early in the season to sort out who's good and who ain't.

    • An argument could be made that the 2024 draft was even worse than the 2023 draft. You could also easily argue the worst drafts in franchise HISTORY are: 2024, 2023, and 2022. That's why you're seeing what you're seeing every Sunday.
    • I don't think it's fair to say all he did was take checkdowns against prevent defense. He did make some really nice throws that helped get us back in the game. Arizona may have been playing prevent on that first drive we scored on in the 3rd, but not after that. Do I think Bryce is the answer at QB? No; at this point that is clear, but I will give him credit when it's due. However, as has been said, a quality starting QB doesn't only come alive when the game is out of hand; they play well enough from the start to ensure the game never does get out of hand. I will say, though, it doesn't help when we're asking him to play with one WR (XL) that is essentially just a decoy.
    • To be fair, Kyler is one of the hardest QBs in the league to get a coverage sack on
