Adrian Peterson deactivated AGAIN indefinitely

Sounds like this happened to A.P. because of Radisson removing their corporate sponsorship and the Minnesota state governor calling for his suspension, too.

Losing corporate $$$ and the threat of government involving themselves trumps Adrian's right to remain innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Not fair to A.P., but if life was fair, we'd all be rich and look like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

P.S. edited to add that Castrol also ended it's sponsorship over A.P., and 4 other companies expressed their concern to the league about him. They are Anheuser-Busch, McDonald's, Visa, and Campbell's. Haven't pulled their sponsorships yet. Yet.

Life lesson in there. We can scream and shout about right and wrong, innocent or guilty, but public opinion is what really matters now. Public opinion and fear of losing customers drives those sponsorships and, yes, the NFL's golden goose, the TV deals. If the NFL fears too much $$$ will be lost, Hardy will get the same treatment, even if it violates the collective bargaining agreement. Better to be sued by Hardy than be radioactive in the public's, corporate sponsor's, and government's eyes.

Tough choice for Hardy now, Does he go along with being inactive and found guilty by a judge and be seen as guilty in the eyes of the public, risking his next contract because, frankly, what team would want the P.R. nightmare? Or does he make a statement defending himself that will doubtless be admissible as evidence in his trial, risking his freedom?

Drafting a DE in the 2nd round doesn't look like a wasted pick now.

He admitted to what he did and implied he would do it again. It's perfectly fair.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
