Are we overlooking the Steelers?

11 of 14 ESPN analysts are picking us to beat the Steelers. The Huddle and the fan base as a whole has already penciled in a W; I don't even see a single thread about the Steelers game that's been posted.

 

Is that wise? The Steelers will have had 10 days to prepare and the Panthers generally aren't that hot in primetime. We haven't beaten the Steelers since 1996. Roethlisberger is a perfect quarterback to take advantage of no Hardy by rolling to Addison/Horton/Ealy's side when Hardy would have been able to contain him.

 

I think the Panthers will win too, but I don't think this is a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. I like the Panthers in a 20-14 sort of game.

What does it matter if the whole huddle and every fan totally discounts the Steelers and thinks we are going to win by a million.  You can bet that the players and coaches aren't overlooking them and that is who determines the outcome of the game.

there's no way the team is looking at this game or their opponents the way outsiders are. not worried at all. it doesn't matter how we or the media looks at it. we can overlook the steelers and underestimate them as much as we want and it won't matter because that's not what the big guys actually playing and coaching the game will be doing.

Insecure? I'd say just the opposite. No one is actually caring about this game, virtually zero discussion of it happening this week.

I don't think the players are overlooking the Steelers. I believe they will be prepared for the task at hand.

I expect us to win every game no matter who we play or what the pundits say.Unfortunately my feelings have no effect on the game at all.  On the other hand my yelling and screaming at every home game does make a difference.  So I focus on that.....

Historically the Panthers have not handled success well.

They have done better when caste as the underdog.

This game will be another data point helping determine whether the team is transitioning from an also ran to perennial favorite.

Sure it happens. This team has a Super Bowl winning QB and a HOF DC though...
