Tonight the Panthers look for a win against the Pittsburgh to help solidify their status as the class of the NFC South.

 

 

Who: Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers

 

When: 8:30pm

 

TV: NBC - NBC Charlotte will be airing LIVE from the Huddle Tailgate starting at 6:00pm. They will have three live spots within the hour.

 

Radio: 1110 WBT

Panthers' Keys to Victory:

 

- Contain Le'Veon Bell. Bell is the most potent offensive weapon of Pittsburgh.

- Continue to Spread the Ball: Cam Newton has done an excellent job of getting the ball to a variety of receivers. This must continue tonight.

- Quick Start. There will be plenty of Steelers fans in attendance. A few quick scores will quiet them and eventually send them back to their trailers early.

Couple thoughts of concern for tonight...

Panthers DBs vs quick WRs. I think we are better suited to matchup against big WRs. This will be a test tonight.

Impact of Hardy. Last week we did not get to see the real impact he has out of the line up. We will this week.

Cam locking on early and starring down short routes to WRs. Troy P often doesn't even play S but instead just spy's the QBs eyes and guesses.....worry about a defender like Troy playing up and jumping those pass lanes

all eyes will be on charlotte tonight.  i think our guys make another statement.  they are still pissed off for being dismissed this off-season.  

 

 

and i hate waiting for night games to get here.

Sadly I think all the talk will be about Greg Hardy. You know NBC isn't just gonna sweep that under the rug.

 

 

I don't really care as long as we get the Win.

Byron Bell (OT) - Toe - Probable

Kelvin Benjamin (WR) - Knee - Probable

Philly Brown (WR) - Ankle - Probable

Nate Chandler (OL) - Toe - Probably

Colin Cole (DT) - Non-Injury - Probable

Jericho Cotchery (WR) - Thigh - Questionable

Thomas Davis (LB) - Hip - Probable

Dwan Edwards (DT) - Back - Probable

Greg Olsen (TE) - Calf - Probable

Mike Tolbert (FB) - Chest - Probable

Fozzy Whittaker (RB) - Thigh - Doubtful

Garry Williams (OT) - Hip - Probable

DeAngelo Williams (RB) - Thigh - Questionable

The list leaves the Panthers a bit depleted at the wideout and running back positions, but most are expected to play.  With Deangelo Williams and Jason Avant both getting limited practice in on Friday, it appears both should be able to play tonight.  Cotchery has been out all week with a thigh injury and did not practice on Friday.  

 

Carolina has brought up Darrin Reaves from the practice squad to add depth in Fozzy's absence.  If Jason and/or Jericho can't go, be prepared to have some Brenton and Philly sightings in tonight's game.

Dri Archer (WR/RB) - Ankle - Doubtful

Martavis Bryant (WR) - Shoulder - Probable

Ramon Foster (OG) - Ankle - Questionable

Brett Keisel (DE) - Non-Injury - Probable

Not one bit worried about RB. We basically have too much depth. So this is just us finally being able to use it.

Crotchety is the big one IMO. He has stepped up for those 89 like 3rd down grabs

      panthers offense 30 of 32 in yards per play

      Doesn't it get tired just arguing the same point over and over no matter what's happening?  It was posted as a way to bash Bryce, someone says all the offenses that run very often are near the bottom.  Then it erupts in to the same people making comment after comment about how bad bryce is.  There is no conversation, there is no dialogue, there's no football talk that doesnt just devolve in to how bad Bryce is.  There are other conversations about the team that could be had.

      On NFL Power Rankings we have moved up from last place to the 21slot we jumped 8 points the Saints are in last place now   Rank 21 8     Carolina Panthers 1-2 Three of the Panthers’ seven victories with Bryce Young starting at quarterback have come against Atlanta. He’s 3-1 against the Falcons and 4-25 against the rest of the league, which is strange, but no one is going to sneeze at a 30-zip whooping after the uninspired 0-2 start. In the first 96 minutes of the season, the Panthers were outscored 53-13. Since then, it has been a 49-0 edge for Carolina. They certainly feel like a more confident operation right now, especially defensively. There are still some warts that could come out against stronger teams, but this suddenly doesn’t look close to the worst defense in the league. Chau Smith-Wade had a pick-six, Mike Jackson added a pick and Christian Rozeboom and A’Shawn Robinson were highly disruptive.
