On the topic of standing up during games....

We have had numerous conversations on her about people complaining about fans standing up during the game. Personally, I think there should be no issues with a fan standing up to cheer unless A) they are being an ass about it or B) maybe there are small kids or elderly that physically cannot stand up during a game.

In section 316, I stand for maybe 75% of the games. The rest of my section probably stand up 15% of the time. Over the years they have grown accustom to me standing.

However, our "brethren" the Jacksonville Jaguars have sent a letter to fans asking them to please sit down during games.

"The Jaguars have received multiple reports of individuals standing excessively without respect to other fans in the area. To be courteous to fans around you when you are standing and cheering for the team, we ask that you please stand with the flow of the game, making sure not to block aisles or prevent the flow of traffic. We are pleased to inform you that based on fan feedback in previous seasons, this year the Jaguars created two "Standing Encouraged" sections; sections 123 and 124. Members interesting in standing for the entire game may relocate their current seats into available seats in sections 123 or 124."

Could you imagine the reaction if JR did this in BOA? The sad thing is that there would probably be more people who would rather be sitting rather than standing....which time and winning will fix.

I like the idea of standing sections. I frequently want to stand up at the games I attend - often because it's just more comfortable and engaging than sitting - but I inevitably have a senior citizen or a three year old behind me. Standing only sections resolve that issue, and would probably be more fun anyway.

Also, let's be real. Most of us sit on our fat asses for 40 hours a week already. Wouldn't kill us to at least stand up while we guzzle 800 calories worth of OMB Copper.

no point in standing on every play during offense IMO. defensive plays is when it's actually a functional activity and gives you a moral right as a supporter of the team to stand up.

Agreed, but not not after less than 3 min of standing should we be asked to sit down on a 3rd and 1. A half our later security came back and asked to see a ticket stub from someone in our group. During that time the entire section started chanting "Kick him out" over and over again. I myself thought it was slightly funny and insulting at the same time, but our native Buffalo host was very offended by it.

My opinion of that last part was fans texting the security number being a smart ass. But just text that number and they will absolutely take it serious no matter the infraction, even if there isn't one. The same holds true At BOA, and I have been disenchanted there was well with mundane security actions recently.

Got to go with the flow.  Standing just to stand is being a prick.  Standing and cheering at the correct points during a game, and being told to sit by wine and cheesers behind you, which happens all the time at B of A, is annoying and ruins the game experience.

Two events I remember never sitting down at outside of halftime...(1) 2003 Dallas playoff game and (2) 1993 game four Hornets/Celtics at the old Hive, when Zo hit the shot.

    • Evero is on the last year of his deal and he's not going to resign here. I think he's gonna try and interview for a HC job and if he doesn't get 1 then I can almost guarantee he's the Rams DC next year taking over for Chris Shula who's almost certainly gonna get a HC job this cycle. The Rams tried to hire him away in 2024, but we blocked the interview, so I have no doubt they are gonna go for him again. The Rams give him a better chance of getting a head coaching job, something Evero has made it known that he wants and his previous relationship with Mcvay and the front office there make it all but certain.  With most of the defensive staff being Evero guys I think we see a pretty big turnover on the defensive coaching staff this offseason as most of them will follow Evero to LA.  I'd look for Canales to bring in someone he's worked with in Seattle like Kris Richard or Gus Bradly or he could just promote Todd Wash to DC.
    • He wanted to go to Tampa Bay according to some sources. I saw an interview with him where imho he heged and reading between the lines I sensed he was ready to leave. I don’t say “absolutely” though lol.
    • The Bucs fan base has become delusional the last 5 or so years. I read for an hour this morning on message boards and X how they think they are going to A) Fire Bowles and ride an interim into the playoffs B) Fire Bowles at the end of the season and get Mike Tomlin C) Get Harbaugh from Baltimore and many other crazy theories that involve trading Baker for future HoF QBs at little to no cost.   Living in the basement for 18 years and then having sudden success with Arians and Brady really messed with their psyche.
